TLw, he says that it's a good deal if you can get it on sale (which this is on sale) but he'd likely relegate it to the basement as it doesn't have HDMI 2.1. That may not be a big deal for non-gamers, so this may be worth taking a shot on for some people.

I've had a skyworth for about a year now. The picture is great and is definitely OLED. Only gripe I have is it takes a good 3-5 seconds for the TV to power on. Disabling the microphone will have an annoying array of led lights on the bottom corner of the bezel.

No longer a thing means, it dont happen. There are plenty of reviews and posts that people have reported it. If LG does not fully guarantee for the lifetime of the product, that means it is a thing. You cant go around saying burn in doesn't happen, when ever tv reviewer in the world knows that it is possible and that image retention is something that happens and could either gradually go away or stay. There are different things that could be done to fix it or make it less visible, but that doesn't mean its no longer a thing. If it was they would say it on their website. I dont swear by any of these companies products, dont care how many I have owned that worked, I just know there are many people out there that have been burnt (forgive the pun) by these companies. Gives us a lifetime burn-in warranty, if you think its not a problem, since you believe so much in their panels. If some panels can get it and some dont, still means burn in is an issue still. Everyone has a different use case, the only constant is the panel from LG.

I checked their return policy as buying and shipping a TV incurs risks of dissatisfaction with quality and/or damage issues.

This company charges customers (by withholding) the company's original costs for shipping from your refund, and the customer pays the return shipping for returns (even if in new condition), even when they give free shipping initially like for this deal.

I understand this and it is just a data point I wanted to bring up. It may or may not be a deal breaker for you.

Got this TV from walts 3 or 4 months ago for 50 less than this deal. Walt's is legit. Free shipping and had the TV in less than a week. Personally I'm thrilled with the Skyworth. It seems like when people that have had problems with these it happens very early, so it should be within the return period. I rolled the dice and have had no problems at all.

C7 since late 2017. The older it gets the more I use it as a background TV for OTA. Still no burn in.

How you use it still comes into play. Background OTA I dim down to 10-20%. You have to check to tell it's that dim. I also skip shows where red is the prevalent color, like CNN and BBC news. True, some limitations to OLED, but so far it's been great.

By the time my OLED fails or burns in, microLED will be mainstream.

You do have a point, but we still like to keep our invasion of privacy at the local level. Just because the US government does it, doesn't mean China can also have a copy of the data.
