Hi, I have 12 lines on T-Mobile one with 3 free lines and my current bill is 279 per month. When I called them to check what my bill would be after I go to go5g they told me that my bill would be above 500. Also change the plan to Magenta max also above $400 and they told me that I will loose all free lines if I change the plan. When I am reading these posts, I am not able to understand. Can you pls explain? Also Is there a way that I can upgrade to the new plan cheaper?
finished call with a rep and he confirmed that free lines will no longer be free. it will be $10 per free line ($35 -$25 whatever that is!!) extra.
so for 6 lines (2 paid + 4 free) , it will cost around $190($150 for 2 paid lines +$10*4 for 4 free lines) on Go5Gplus.

tmobile used to be the uncarrier and great deals. but now they are only focused on profits. they keep introducing new more expensive plans and zero deals on new premium phones

What price increase? Tell me you don't know without telling me you don't know.
The price increase FROM the legacy plan TO the Go5G Plus is what they are referring to.

I came from Sprint, so I am grandfathered into some plan that gives me more "unlimited" data, hotspot data, international data, etc., compared to the Go5G plans.

if you use insder coupon 20% will be off so $190-$38 = $152 ?

Would highly recommend you go to Reddit to discuss this. The T-Mobile subreddit has a bunch of current and former T-Mobile employees who are super knowledgeable and helpful. They can help you calculate what your new plan amount will be if you switch over. I moved from Magenta Max and my bill only increased $10… and now I qualify for the iPhone 15 pro upgrade

Yep, it's a trap to give up legacy plans.

I have a business account (Magenta Max equivalent I think) with eight voice lines, two mobile hotspots, two Apple Watches, and three iPhones that haven't been paid off yet, plus I also have free Netflix, and I'm paying about $218. I can't imagine what that new plan would cost me.

Can you explain why? I have a legacy, and would sincerely like to know the differences.
My legacy plan has $100 for 5 lines, unlimited data, call and texts. GoPlus with 5 lines is $220/month. Do the math. I rotate between streaming services, 2 or 3 at a time, so Netflix is not needed all the time. In-flight wifi is nice, but not really essential. Even if neededed, for 2-3 trips a year, the math does not add up.

Can I stack the $400 with the $830 towards the iPhone 15 Pro with port-in and trade-in?

Yes, you can call in. I bought 3 lines over the phone as the closest Costco is 2.5 hours away.

Yes, the $400 is on top of the trade in. As mentioned, there is a Costco member credit and port credit. For the port credit, you need to port from the other 2 carriers, at least on their network for 90 days, and not a Tmo MVNO.

What can you do with the 250 credit? Does it apply against your account in Tmo as a lump sum. Does the next few months of service get deducted from the 250 credit?

So I'm also on Magenta Max. I have 9 lines: four paid lines and five free lines (from various free lines promos) + Insider Hookup.

Twitter Rep told me that Go5G Plus would cost $5 more per month per paid line, so +$20/mo over what I pay now (which I think is $128/mo for service plan). So an extra $240 per year.

As far as I can see, the benefits I would get are:
1) 50GB of hotspot instead of 40GB (useful as I sometimes do run out on two lines)

2) maintain the ability to upgrade with the best trade in deals every 2 years on 9 lines.

Assuming we upgrade most of those lines regularly, getting the best promo trade in credits, that seems maybe not bad?

Very willing to be talked down from the ledge here. Am I crazy to consider changing?
I just spoke to a rep.
I think it has to be evaluated on a person by person basis. For some the legacy plans not switching I get.
In my case i have 3 lines for 2 promo + friends and family + auto pay discount lines.
So I pay $96 a month (without financed device costs).
The rep I spoke to said I'd pay 106 a month if i switched to Go5G.
Over 2 year (i prefer the 2 year upgrade personally). I'd pay $240 more.
My iphone 11 pro trade in goes from $650 to 1000. Which is $350 more.
So still 350 trade in extra - 240 2 year increased cost = 110 staying in my pocket.
Now if I do that with 2 trade ins, I save a few hundred more.
If i can bundle with this costco promo - then that helps even more.

Also yeah I use netflix / apple tv through them. I use the perks from the plan.

I havent pulled the trigger. I'm trying to find reason why its better to stick to my magenta max.
If i stay on the plan, I still think Im putting more out of pocket buying the phones direct.
reading through the comments, maybe someone else can chime in.

one thing is what if costco tmobile screws up my account discounts? although if you call the phone number on their website - it goes to tmobiles costco dep so presumably they keep everything in-tact.

When did you move to Go5G plan? Is it plus? I have Magenta Max, 6 lines(actually only use 5) plus one Apple Watch. Currently at like $190/mo. I'll read reddit as well.

Thanks!
