T-Mobile is heavily trying to get people into higher paying plans for benefits are are arguable negligible. I'll stay on my essentials plan $90 with my 5 lines and just buy the phones myself.
Essential $90 for 5 lines? How? I'm paying $105 after $15 auto pay discount for 3 lines

There's no phone promo big enough to justify changing a legacy Tmobile plan to Go5G.
😘. I have tried several time they have a new promo and non of them has been able to match my legacy rate so far. I stopped trying

Yes you do I have 2 line with 2 free lines on Go5G Plus, I just updated my 2 free lines devices (1000$ trade in for each)

These plans are just too expensive. I'm still grandfathered in on 3 lines of unlimited everything for $100/month, so this promo just doesn't make it worth it. They're really trying hard to get people on to these new expensive lines along with every other carrier.

I agree. I still have 6 free lines from T-mobile deals back in the day. I'm maxed out at 12 lines $140/mo.

I've been with them since the Voicestream/CompUSA days...they used to have the best customer service of virtually any company I've dealt with...problems got resolved quickly and easily.

It now takes multiple phone calls, supervisor escalation and months in some cases to get things done. And it seems they've outsourced much of their support to countries where English is not the reps first language.

I won't move because my plan is grandfathered, but if another carrier one day is competitive, I'll switch overnight.

QUESTION: I'm happy with Visible's $45/month plan, but would love a new iPhone and yes, I'm a Costco member.

From my admittedly brief review, it seems that the $105*/month upgrade-every-year plan with T-Mobile would cost me more money than just staying on Visible, selling my current iPhone and buying a new one.

- Sell iPhone 13 Pro on Swappa: $650
- Buy new iPhone 15 Pro: $1050 with tax

Visible: 45*12 + $400 = $940 for the year
T-Mobile: $105*12 + 1/2 of $1050** - $400 promo: $1385

Are my calculations right here?

Thanks much in advance for your insights!

* Plan is $100 with autopay, but I wanna put the charge on my credit card to get free cell phone protection

** My understanding is that one has to make phone payments for about 6 months before one can trade in for a new phone, right?

Yes, the $400 is on top of the trade in. As mentioned, there is a Costco member credit and port credit. For the port credit, you need to port from the other 2 carriers, at least on their network for 90 days, and not a Tmo MVNO.
Hell yeah! This is awesome. Do you know how long this promo will last? My 2-year old device/credit agreement with Verizon ends this month. Looking to switch in the first week of October.

You said you have the friends and family. I assume you mean the Friends and family 2 lines on us (2016). (btw you never mentioned how many total lines you have and how many are free). Here's a start:

Here's another helpful one:

I did in this post my original post:

https://slickdeals.net/f/16940941-t-mobile-costco-kiosks-get-up-to-400-when-you-activate-with-a-go5g-plus-plan?p=165988303#post165988303

Admittedly it was late at night and i wrote i have magenta max a few lines down from where I wrote about the 3 lines for 2 promo etc.

So yeah I have magenta max - 3 lines for 2 promo, with friends and family code applied, auto pay and the line credit adjustment. netflix, apple tv all that thrown in 96 a month for 3 lines.

Appreciate the link for the reddit threads - the 2nd one seems closer to my situation.

I'm on the Magenta Max plan - the new plans are way more expensive for literally the same (or extrremely similar) benefits.
This is false. I have magenta max, and going to go 2 5 g plus is only $10 more a month (for 3 lines) and the trade in to new iPhone credit it $1k instead of $350. So if you like to get a new phone every few years, which I do, it's a better plan

What are you taking about? I know it is Friday, but prices steadily have increased from One Plan to Magenta to Go5g.
I might be crazy, but my Magenta Military (well, technically my dad's), is $30 a line for four lines. It says Go5g would be the exact same price, but with more hotspot data and he video streaming. What am I missing here? Unless the military plans are discounted at different rates which seems weird but I guess could make sense.
