I've had 4 of these, 2 teles and 2 strats. I think they are great! I sold them because I thought I needed an American strat.

Before anyone chimes in on a $100 Monoprice strat copy being as good, they're not unless you put $250 into it. But you'll always have a guitar that is worth $50 on the used market.

You can always sell this 2 years from now for what you paid for it or more.

This is a deal for a solid guitar. The quality and resale value make it great buy.

I have an Am Pro II in mystic surf w/ rosewood. It gets the nod ahead of my 2 excellent Gibsons and PRS Custom 24. If a Player strat is as good, that'd make this an incredible deal…

I bought an affinity last year and intend to get a nicer one this year. I'm alllllll over the place right now.

There's this guitar!

There's that dark night american pro II (btw that mystic surf looks beautiful!)

There's also the blue denim american ultra

And then, I like that PRS SE hollowbody II piezo in peacock blue. I have a thing for blue guitars, ya know?

I don't think I want to spend $2600, so the ultra is probably out. Even if locking tuners sounds dreamy. I don't want another Squier (like a contemporary) because the name looks like a typo (even if it isn't) and it annoys me. The Am Pro II at least has the rounded neck joint, those are neat!

But is it really worth 3x the cost of this? XD

I've tried a LOT of guitars at this point. IMO these are the only models and only price where it makes sense to buy a new fender guitar. American series is comically overrated, custom shop is absurdly priced, and I personally really didn't like the Player Plus. If you want a nicer Fender, get it used. You'll get a better deal, and usually a better guitar.

If you want a Fender, you want a Fender. You're probably not in the market for the best value per dollar. Not hating on Fender, I have 3 right now. Most of their products are just wildly overpriced. This is a good guitar for a reasonable price, and one of the few models I've hung onto. My other 2 Fender models are Road Worn MIM, and they are truly something else, but you can't get those anymore.

I agree. I ended up buying a S1 switch Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster for like $410. Texas specials wail. Since, I've never owned another because of the price. You can't find things loaded like you did 10 years ago at a really decent price. This one comes close with the alder and maple. If I were in the market I'd pull on the tele.

Good deal. I have both players. Paid closer to 6 delivered. Might be luck but mine arrived perfect from ado. Just lowered the actions a bit.

Got one of these (a Tele) from Adorama in May 2021 for $519. It's been a great guitar - love the tone, and it was in perfect condition. No-brainer at this price if you want a quality Fender.
