You can always sell this 2 years from now for what you paid for it or more.
This is a deal for a solid guitar. The quality and resale value make it great buy.

As NeoSlick says, that $56 guitar still looks the part. Even if the QC is poor, it should make roughly the same sounds as the $500 guitar when you pick the strings.
So if the $480 means something to you, you can get that $56 guitar, get a headphone amp or a cube baby or a cheap amp, get some picks and a cheap guitar stand or whatever to keep it next to your favorite place to sit when you're home. PLAY IT. At least a few hours a week. Get past having sore fingertips. Learn a song.
At some point you either start throwing money into making that $56 guitar sound better, or you get gear acquisition syndrome and start window shopping for another guitar lol. Or it gathers dust until you give it to someone you hear wants to learn guitar (or you sell it at a garage sale for $20 or something).
That said! If you buy jordans and have the latest iphone and $500 isn't a big deal? These are a good enough use of that $500 I guess lol. At least it isn't booze or drugs.
In the grand scheme of hobby things, if you get them on sale, these guitars are all fairly cheap. $500 for this, $1100 for that other fender american, I saw a $1579 ultra on one of the guitar sites lol. I have other hobbies I could spend that kind of money and watch it vaporize.
For example, gaming: A 4090 costs $1800-ish right now. In a year or two that thing will be worth maaaybe $800. A fender ultra would be a much better use of the money.
Of course, sticking that money in an investment account and going with a super low risk 5% investment option would be even nicer right now.... maybe... but playing guitars is fun.
Last week I got the special edition player strat from Sweetwater (sea foam green with roasted maple neck and head) for $675 and I thought that it was a great price but this price is much better. I liked both color schemes but ultimately decided to go ahead and pay extra for the Sweetwater one since it was my favorite with this color being my second favorite.
As far as quality goes, the first strat they sent me had a crack between the bridge and the pickguard so I sent it back but the second one was better. It has a really bad setup though (most of the saddles are super crooked where they didn't adjust the allen heads equally, the 5th string sits higher than all other strings on the board, and the 6th string buzzes when fretted around the 4th or 5th fret) and many of the frets themselves are discolored or looks like they have sanding marks or something where parts are really shiny when the rest of the frets are more dull. I'll set it up myself this week and the first time I change the strings out I'll polish the frets so it should be perfect after that.

I had mentioned in a previous one of these posts being interested in one of those monoprice indios to turn into a 5 string to imitate keith richards and have some fun with that lol. Call it wasteful, but that price slides into "I just felt like it" territory for me lol.
As for my previous comment on pricing, I don't really mean anything profound by it. Some people probably buy an american ultra after having a shower thought "I feel like trying guitar out just for shits n giggles" because to them, that price tag hits them about as hard as me buying a $60 monoprice guitar lol. That doesn't mean the rich dude is always going to be that way. I knew a hella rich lawyer that came into his office the day I was there, and bragged to his other lawyer friend about the watch he got at walgreens for $5 on clearance lol.
