How long is the life expectancy of these? Unsure if I should use this instead of a microSD card to store some large videos on my phone

Not a tech person so I might be giving a bad misleading source. Model number is different (U46).

Edit: Rambling, going off tangent here. Playing around with the score rating setting, the top models vary from high, short starting speeds and dropping down from thermal throttling I guess or tech limitations. Then there are slower but sustaining speeds (I guess from tech that allows longer writing/reading speed durations). Knowing nothing about usbs to still knowing nothing but that they aren't all the same like everything in life makes choosing the right one for people's own situations infinitely difficult beyond just transferring data or using a usb.

1. From what I know ssds are better, faster and cheaper for data.
2. I use the USB because it's said to be the most straight forward, easiest, least time consuming, compatible way to install windows. So that's why they're still used instead of ssds I assume.
If you really want to up your game youtube the laptop you want to get and make sure you can replace the nvme and ram memory too.

Then get a Samsung 990 pro 1 tb nvme for $70 for your atop. It's v4, and backwards compatible. if on v3 it's still lower energy, has dram, great quality ram (mlc). and will move as quick as the motherboard will let it. They don't always put in the fastest drive the motherboard will handle, and post the speed of hd it comes with as the max speed.

Then take the nvme out of your laptop and put it in a $20 enclosure and use it as a 10,000 speed usb stick. screw this usb 3.1 1,300 speed stuff.

as long as your laptop has usb 3.1 gen 2 port (not 3.1 gen 1, is way slower), or a firewire port (usb c) you will get great speeds with your old laptop drive with enclosure.

Found one local. For that price why not. Beats pulling out my external drive every time I want to transfer large files.
So the local Walmart I ordered this from said they didn't have it in stock and Walmart offered to ship it to me for free without the minimum requirement. I thought that was interesting considering it was OOS online but I just went to the listing and it looks like it's back in stock for shipping.

How would you store large videos on your phone with one of these?

This went oos online just moments after I got the notice from SD. I just couldn't check out fast enough…. having to confirm a login code. Good deal though. It looks like some local stores still have it. Thanks OP

Available 40 miles away from me. I ordered for pickup. Then they said it is unavailable at that location, so they are shipping for free.

The pro 3.1 drive goes on sale from time to time. I recommend that vs this one unless you need it now.

Do you mean the SanDisk 256GB Extreme PRO USB 3.1 Solid State Flash Drive? Amzn currently sells it for $52.99 and according to ccc, it's been around $50 the past couple years, with the lowest being $26.99 on May 08, 2020. What prices have you seen it on sale for?

Saw a huge stack of them at a Walmart Neighborhood store $7 for 256GB and $4 for 128GB. They've been sitting there for a while now in the clearance section.

This appears to be the same drive I bought back at the end of July. IIRC, it was available in store only and my store didn't have any so I had to drive 20 miles. I only wanted 2 so I had to order other stuff to reach the $35 min. I was just buying to maybe use for Windows installations or some other use where the speed isn't all that important.

Now it's showing in stock at my store in West Central Indiana but as others have said, sometimes that's not accurate and maybe you're able to get it shipped delivered.
