I bet they are jacking up the price right before amazon day to show big savings. I got the uhz45 and think its a good pj for the price. Lazer is quick to start, low heat output, no bulb, sharp picture, good contrast. On bad side, minimal lens shift (better put mount in correct spot), and no lens memory (to push black bars off screen in widescreen movies)...

There are multiple reviews of this unit on youtube but I'll try to give you guys info that is particular to this that the Youtube reviews don't mention.

I currently have this projector UHZ50 for the past months heres my take if you are on the line.

I'm somewhat new to projectors and within this 3 months I have

WeMax Dice - 1080p. got it for $299
I love the unit for what it is feature/price wise. but what killed it for me was the 55ms input lag.. make it impossible for me to play fast games that needs quick reaction. (shoot em ups and run and gun games). If you want it for movies and casual games its a great unit. end up selling to recover the cost. I can't stand the 55ms input lag. once you notice it you can't not notice it.

ViewSonic PX701-4K 4K got a refurb unit for ~$500 from an earlier deal.
- to freaking long to start up and have full brightness and color.
- other than the start up time great unit, no smart features. but you can add a $25 fireTV stick and u good to go.
- color and vibrance sucks, you have to enable vibrance color and it will look MUCH better.
- end up returning it as there is some discoloration on the top and side of image. support said it was a defect.
- end up returning to amazion for refund as viewsonic have no more units to RMA me.

UHZ50 - $1499 got it from bestbuy a month ago.
GOOD:
- great image quality out of the box.
- since its laser quick to startup and bright.
- as mentiond by another user Lazer is quick to start, low heat output, no bulb, sharp picture, good contrast
- can get a 103" image from 9ft 4inches away. using the full1.3zoom
- ~4ms input lag at 1080p 240hz is amazingly smooth and fast. (played unreal tournament 1999). and F-Zero GX (gamecube via emulation), outrun 2006 (Ps2 via emulation)
- ~16ms input lag at 4k60hz
- ~8ms inputlage at 1080p 120hz
- has smart features for casting video from our phone and screen share.
- startup and shutdown process is much faster than the Dice and 701-4k
- though this is "pixel shifting" and not true 4k. it is noticeably sharper at 4k than 1080p even on my wall painted with cheap ~$14 paint.

BAD:
- 2x the price of the PX701-4k which is at $719.99 now. (at this price the PX701-4k is a good buy IMHO and have the same fast 4ms response time as this)
https://www.amazon.com/ViewSonic-...r=8-2&th=1
- the smartfeautres is just suck ass. the video player don't support much format and FF and RR is slow as rock on it. no apps like youtube or hulu etc.. Just put a FireTV stick on one of the three HDMI ports
- they should really have wifi built in instead of a wireless usb dongle. but at least there is 3 USB ports on the thing.
- The Smooth Video HDMI port is sort a scam... it looks great in promition but limited.
it doesn't work when I have my FireTV stick on it. as it output 4k 60hz. even though the movie it's playing is 30fps. If you have say a DVD player or a BR player that output the movie at 30 or 24fps it would smooth the video out.. I have not yet try it but read it.

OTHER INFO:
- open the box CAREFULLY once you get it. There is a little bag that has a USB WiFi dongle on in it. it took me two weeks to realize there was a wireless dongle included for WiFi. after reading up on it.
- update the firmware once you get it.
- Ive got the audio connected to the JBL Bar 2.0 for audio via optical spdif. so have not tested the internal speakers but from what reviews it is supposely decent.
- I can't comment on earc, dolby plus, 3D sync as I don't have the equipment
- Image is great as well as the input lag speed. I mostly use it with FireTV (HDR works on it) and Emulation (8bit to PS2, Wii, GameCube generation.) and let me tell you Playing Super Mario Bros, Custers REvenge, King of Fighter 94, Street Fighter 2, Twin Cobra, Raiden II and Fzero GX on a 103" size display is amazing.

If you have a free wall you can get this paint from home depot. instead of expensive screen or "projector" paint that cost $200 for 1Quart.

https://www.homedepot.com/p/BEHR-.../204895422
$14 for 1 Quart. you should be able to paint two layers of 100"
$28 for a gallon. I got this and just end up painting 3 layers of my entire wall. because the kids marked it up and dirty the original walls. might as well get extra coat to cover the marking.

I have amazing results with it. but then again I've not seen how this thing perform on expensive projector screen... ignorance is blissed I guess.

Hope this help someone. let me know if you have any question
