Depends on specific electric use which can vary widely, but just say an average is around 30kwh per day. This is 7200 total so maybe almost 7k worth of usable energy. I believe this should be able to connect split phase so should be a short term"wholesale house" option but not something you would want to run electric resistance heat or ac even if it has the output those would drain these quickly... this would be good to keep fridge, freezer, computers and some lights running for a while. If running home like normal, but without electric heat/ac this may last most of a day. If minimized use this could probably run very basics for a couple days. Also if "installed" I think there may be a chance of getting the 30% tax credit, but have to install in a qualifying way.

Best option, if your electric provider offers it, is to look at your daily energy usage online. If you're lucky, it will show you an hourly breakdown of your KWh usage. Depending on usage and whether you pair this with solar, this could keep your essentials running for a considerable amount of time. For me, during my lowest usage hours, I'm still using 0.30-0.35KWh with consistent peaks ranging from 1.4KWh-3.5KWh daily.

So over the course of a day, just my "idle" usage would drain this setup in less than 1 day. If you had this just connected to a fridge and freezer, you could probably go a week or longer (depending on efficiency rating of course).

I just purchased a Delta 2 for camping which I think will be awesome. I also have two 2K generators for backup power during extended circumstances and to run my RV air conditioner whenever I take that out.

Why would anybody spend this much money on batteries for whole home instead of just getting a natural gas generac generator or something with transfer? I could see maybe off grid with a large solar array. What other purpose could something this large serve

The best use case for something like this would be an off-grid situation like a remote cabin or an RV to use as buffer for times when the sun/wind/propane/gas generator is not in-use due to noise or environmental variables. A 240v generator would work best cause it can charge in about 2hr, whereas 120v generators would take 3hr or more, solar wouldn't be adequate unless your usage is low and it can be replaced by a 400w or so solar setup because it could take 2 or more days to fully charge. For a whole-house backup solution , a natural gas generator an automatic transfer switch would offer longer run times. Unless you dont have natural gas, then propane/gas/diesel.

Personally, I would build my own at this cost, but for apartment or high rise condo this would be good for someone who has money to buy and does not have skills and lives in a state like california with unstable grid due to improper planning...

Also good for those who do have the skills but whose time is better spent doing other things, or who simply choose to spend it doing other things and can comfortably buy an EcoFlow instead. For example I love the idea of building one DIY, and could easily do it. But I'm leaning towards just buying one. Easier, faster, zero liability issues in case of failure, etc.

When I think of poor power infrastructure, I think it would be disingenuous (and downright unfair!) to leave good old Texas off of a list that also has California on it. They didn't let people die in a 100% preventable winter grid failure to be left off of this list now.

As others have alluded to, it depends entirely on your usage.

7,200Wh? If your toaster uses 1,000W --> you're looking at ~7.2 hours (assuming no losses, perfect conversion etc.).

Your fridge pulls 200W while running, and has a ~50% duty cycle? 7,200W/200W = 36 hours --> 50% duty cycle means is only runs 50% of the time --> 2x36h = 72 hours.

10x 10W LED bulbs --> 100W
200W fridge 50% duty cycle --> 100W
Router + ONT --> 20W
Laptop + phones + tablets --> 40W
----------------------------------------
260W --> 7,200/260 = ~27 hours.

This is just a fictional setup, based on estimates I've made. Best thing to do is get an idea of what you expect your load to be during a power outage. You can use that to calculate how long one of these might last.

Personally, I love the idea of one or two of these. Why? Generator runs during the day? Great. Noisy, subject to theft, etc. but during the day you can keep an eye on it. At night, these can be inside the house, 100% silent... Zero risk of theft. Run the fridge, internet, basic sh!t overnight. In the morning --> fire up the generator --> charge these battery/batteries while running everything else as well.

Don't forget to research the massive 30% tax credit available when you purchase one (or more) of these!! I believe minimum capacity needs to be 3kWh/3000Wh to qualify. Applies to renters as well, which is huge.

This is very tempting… new Delta Pro line is coming out and it's probably going to be a lot better.

Oddly there isn't a lot of info out there, but I saw this a month or so back on the official Ecoflow Delta Facebook group: https://geardiary.com/2023/08/31/...ultra-ifa/

Keep in mind unlike other ecoflow pro deals recently posted, this deal consists of 2 ecoflow pro units, not 1 ecoflow pro and 1 extra battery. The capacity is about the same but the main advantage of this setup is that it allows the 2 to be connected together to be able to produce 240v instead of 120 v.

Oooooo... I've been resisting buy one or two of these until Black Friday. I'd like to combine a great price with the 30% tax credit. I wonder if they'll be announced or available before or by Black Friday 2023 🤔🤔🤔?

Use google translate if you dont read german.

6kwh batteries, up to 5 per unit and can combine 3 units for a total of 90kwh.

Part of me says this is made for a whole other market then the delta pro, but since you can buy just 1 6kwh battery maybe not and they just made the system wildly expandable.

Grain of salt since its not an official release from Ecoflow.
