That's some absolutely crazy pricing there bud, I just bought a 6700xt priced at $300 on sale and I managed to grab a 6650xt for $200 heavily discounted a little over month ago (220 regular discounted) for my brother, I would say a fair price for the 7600 is around 220-230. its roughly 5-8 percent faster than the 6650xt. You would be waiting at least 3-4 years to see that kind of pricing at $150 for the 7600, and at that point newer better card with better price to performance would be released already. Let's be realistic here, I know we all want to save money but this is some insane tin foil hat price speculation.
One of few who get it. I picked up a 7600 a few months ago, chose it over the 6650 because they were priced the same, and like you said, are slightly faster. Can play almost anything at 1440p high settings at 75+ fps.

If this belongs at $150, that means a 6600 should be $100 max? Good luck with those prices.

8gb on the newer cards? Why do they do this
You easily can max out 8gb on call of duty warzone 2 and that's already a year old. Why if they know this make the cards with the same gb ram was last generation

i agree that 8gb is bare minimum nowadays, but it's an entry level card, so should be more than enough in 1080p i guess

Some people are delusional if they think that the 7600 will be priced lower than the 6650xt even 5 years from now. Like you said prices drop down relative to performance not by some arbitrary value that some delusional people put the price as they want it to be because they don't want to spend the fair price for it. If you were to follow the same logic as him then that would mean he would also be placing the 6700xt at $190-200, which is absolute bonkers.

Nvram is becoming a commodity on consumer cards . Manufacturer realized consumer cards are doing just fine in gaming with low nvram and the ones looking for high ram cards are miners (now dead) or the new homelab craze ( AI and ML). Because of that you start seeing professional GPU targeted to private consumer segment ex A6000 Ada or Ampere
