If you have (relatively) low pressure washer needs this is a fantastic item (bought it for $130 in 2018 and it is still functional.) It takes a wide variety of attachments and works very well for small to medium jobs like foaming your car, driveway work, or clearing old paint off of a deck. Electric jobs will never have the performance of gas powered, but keeping that in mind I very much suggest this. Usage note: unwind the hose BEFORE using it, as it's awkward AF otherwise.

Best thing to use is a brush. But almost no one does that because it's so much work. If you use a power washer to clean your siding, you need to be really conscious of how your siding overlaps. Otherwise you are injecting water at high pressure underneath your siding. Especially at the corners of your house. If you are close to an inside corner, you should use a brush to remove algae or mildew.

Same thing for your soffit, the underside of the overhang from the roof. Many have vent holes in them, so again you don't want to inject water into the structure of your roof, which is most likely OSB, think wood scraps held together with glue. Hot roof + water = rotted roof.

I received mine today. Mind you I ordered from this SD link the SPX4001. WalMart shipped SPX4004-MAX. So I called WalMart Customer Care (not U.S based) and tried to explain the mistake and that I ordered the SPX4001. They couldnt understand why it mattered. I explained I ordered and the order they accepted payment for was a SPX4001 and that I received a SPX4004. I wasted 39 minutes and 11 seconds to no resolution. I then called SunJoe who I explained the problem and they immediately said we will register the item I received (SPX4004) and will warranty a replacement (SPX4001) along with some "extras" as their apology for the problems caused by WalMart. WalMart Customer Care sucks- plain and simple- they suck! Never had an issue with SunJoe on all of the items that I have ever bought from them.

I too received the wrong model ---the SPX4004-Max (was supposed to be delivered Oct 4th, then delayed to 9th, arrived the 10th)
I too wasted time with customer care
I never thought about contacting sun joe

Thank you for the update. I've received the SPX4004-MAX as well. Tomorrow, I plan to give SunJoe a call to inquire further. I couldn't help but wonder which model is better. Notably, I noticed that the 4004-MAX is listed at a higher price on SunJoe's website, priced at $249 compared to $209.

Walmart Customer Service is TERRIBLE!!!! According to Sun Joe the 4001 is the better of the two. While I was on the phone I asked about problems with the reel as some noted and the CSR said just call the 800 number and they would ship another out same day. I had a battery go bad and I called and they replaced my 2.0 with 4.0 and sent it overnight.

wow--now you have me wondering. I thought the 4001 was the better model because the price was much higher on walmart but I do see the 4004 is priced higher on sun joe. Now I'm confused on what to do as Sun Joe did offer to replace after registration

My replacement (SPX4001) arrived today from SUN JOE. Works great! The extras they sent included a foam cannon and a 4.0 battery (they were able to see my purchase history so knew I had several cordless SUN JOE products). Make sure if you get the wrong one from Walmart to leave a negative review. I think they thought they were being slick by subbing whatever they felt like. If you have a SUN JOE product and have a problem, please make sure to call SUN JOE Customer Service, they have come through like champs every time.

Is the 4001 significantly better than the 4004? I got shipped the 4004 but didn't realize it until yesterday when I went to unbox it.

I have used my 4001 three times so far. I like the reel feature and the pressure fitting of the hose to the machine. I was just "pissed off" that I ordered the 4001 and Walmart shipped the 4004 without asking. I like power of the 4001 for my application of power washing my patio and walkway- does a really good job! Walmart customer service tried to play it off! SunJoe Customer Service said they are having ALOT of people calling to complain and they are honoring returns and even said that the 4001 is a better product with more features. If you do decide to return it- call SunJoe and let them replace it. They will do it without question! Keep me posted on what happens.

I get that, it was a real sneaky thing to do. I had a project and couldn't wait so I used the 4004. I've never had a 4001 so can't compare, but it made short work of cleaning my old deck and pool patio. Really easy to use machine. I've got a surface cleaner attachment ordered and we'll see how well that works on some of my other patio and drive. I've only heard bad things about the reel on the 4001, so wasn't upset about not getting that. However, the higher amp motor has me wondering if I'm giving up any performance. I tried to find reviews on both by the same person but couldn't. Oh well, the one I got was brand-new and looks to be good enough for my purposes. Glad they took care of you, I'm thinking I'll just keep mine. Was a great deal either way!

Glad it worked out for you. The SunJoe CSR I talked to asked that I relay to all that if you ever have anything wrong with your SunJoe product to call them directly and they will take care of the issues. I can attest to the that.
