Here's my guess.
Sounds like the free one I posted a few days ago from XDA. Temporary until factory reset.

Remote unlocking: Our unlocking service is performed remotely using your Computer and eliminating the need to send in your device or visit a physical store.
Will the method you posted work for moving the Spectrum SIM to eSIM and using it alongside a T-Mobile physical SIM card?

Edit: link to FAQ https://www.spectrum.net/support/...ogram-faqs

Click on "Offer Details" and it says: " If new phone paid in full, credit applied to purchase. If new phone financed, credit applied to bill in pro-rated increments for the duration of the Device Payment Plan."

Also, their FAQ states: "After your device is processed, you'll receive a credit for the assessed value. If you've paid for your new device in full, the trade-in credit will be refunded to your credit card within two billing cycles. Otherwise, a monthly credit will be applied to your Device Payment Plan in equal parts over the duration of the plan, starting within two billing cycles."
Also it says , Device payment plan is required:

"Limited time offer; subject to change; offers applies to qualified Mobile customers without any outstanding obligation to Charter. Promotion requires enrollment in a 36 mos. Device Payment Plan. If mobile service cancelled, remaining balance on Device Payment Plan becomes due.

Does this mean one has to be on the plan for 36 months? Even though it is unlocked

It's permanent until you factory reset the phone. If you do that, then they will unlock your phone for free.

Not really the same, because you have to install netguard. I don't have to install anything and it's working great.
Yes, that is the correct link.

This applies only if one choose 36 month payment plan. If you pay the entire amount due after $600 off, you can cancel the plan anytime. Of course you want to cancel only after unlock, which is 60+ days.

I filed a FCC complaint online since all service agreement I docusigned and the website indicated 60 days of active account with no overdue balance, not the phone has to be active for 60 days. Spectrum rep cannot point to any written company policy on that either. It seems to be a programatic system limitation they recently put in. FCC email said Spectrum will contact me for resolution. I'll see what happen next. More users should file FCC complaint since Spectrum is acting in contrary to their written unlock policy.

60 days of active mobile account or 60 days of TV/Internet account? They seem to separate the two and even have different account numbers.

I just have a question here about unlocking. Why are we going through all these lengths to unlock it. You just have to keep the phone on Spectrum service for 60 days which is $60 more. I think paying $60 is worth not going through the hassle of ebay and stuff. What am I missing here?

Time is money, these phones won't be worth as much on the resale market in 2 months when everyone gets them unlocked. That's why the SIM unlocks that don't survive a factory reset are useless for me.
