Although the Best Buy product listing reads "Save up to $1,140.00 when you trade in a similar device [archive.ph]" (screenshot [archive.org]), there is currently no trade-in value that high. When I collected the data from all 2816 eligible trade-in SKUs, the highest trade-in value was $950.00.

You'll probably end up getting a gift card for the regular trade in value of the phone. For example, iPhone 11 trade in gives $500 credit ($200 regular and $300 bonus). If you do a return, you would get a gift card for $200 only.
