Although the Best Buy product listing reads "Save up to $1,140.00 when you trade in a similar device [archive.ph]" (screenshot [archive.org]), there is currently no trade-in value that high. When I collected the data from all 2816 eligible trade-in SKUs, the highest trade-in value was $950.00.

I think it's stupid that they are not using serial number or IMEI vs model number. For iPhone XR as an example, they list the same model number (same storage and color) for multiple wireless carriers, which I know for sure it is not accurate. Stupid reps just look for the model number and deny the trade-in claiming that the model number does not match.

Now this makes me worried. I selected a Verizon iPhone XS for trade-in but it didn't match their model numbers. There are a ton of different model numbers out there for the same iPhones from the same carriers as far as I know.

Edit: I just checked with some Apple reference sites and apparently the model# Best Buys lists for the Verizon XS is actually the model for the unlocked XS. My phone is an actual Verizon model. Their system is full of errors.

Yeah, they list the wrong model numbers (seemingly they use the numbers for unlocked phones) for most of the iPhones I've looked up via trade. If they're actually going by model number then they'd be rejecting 3/4 of the phones sent in. They must use other ways to verify them otherwise this is going to be an absolute cluster.

13 pro/ pro max, benchmarks aside, are better than the 14/15 counterparts on thermals/battery life. SoC in the 13 is still a beast.

Sorry man ...I put up all information I got travelling at 3 stores...there was a time when blue colour was showing not avaliable for preordrr on their screen and they showed me blue available with Verizon and said it will reject watch promo with Verizon...so I went ahead with black....in my 1st transaction....second time as well they told blue is not available now and they cannot do it- and I wanted anyhow to get deal before it went away so I was ready to compromise on color- but luckily google representative at BB store just came there while I was transacting and they did some ordering which allowed to ordrr blue which will come after week....so crux is I just wanted all to benefit if color was important everyone could have talked ymmv ....but my target was getting deal as anytime it would be gone...hope u understand....my intent was to give comprehensive data I gathered at 3 stores....
