I have the g-sync version. (AW3423DW, non-F) I do not have any blurry text. Color fringing of text is supposedly an issue with both DWF and DW models, but I personally notice no issue with text on my DW. There is an app called Cleartype native to windows that may assist with this, source: anecdotes on reddit.

I did the DW over the DWF because of the G-Sync Ultimate module. The DWF does have better input latency than the DW on paper, but I havent used a DWF so I can't comment on how it feels vs the DW. The DW latency feels good to me, and I was coming from a Dell S2721DGF which I think has similar latency to the DWF.

At $800 this is pretty awesome, though.

EDIT: There is a major difference in how you update the firmware of the monitors:

DWF firmware can be updated via a software download from the manufacturers website

DW supposedly needs to be physically shipped back to Dell to update it there, and wait for its return. Purchased my DW in Sept. 2023, Firmware version I have is M0B204.
Go find a cheaper curved wide-screen *OLED* 144hz 2K monitor then
I had the 42" LG C2 on my desk for 3 months before buying this one. Reasonable minds can certainly differ, but I far prefer the Dell for desktop use, on a massive desk, both for productivity and gaming. As compared to the C2, the Dell is free from auto-dimming, has no input lag, and frankly, I also strongly prefer watching streaming media content on the aw3423dw because it doesn't highlight compression artifacts/noise the way the C2 does. HDR is also much more impressive on the qd-oled dell. The C2 will give you a pristine 4k image with the right content (and a lot of fiddling with settings), but personally, I've learned my lesson about trying to use a TV as a monitor.

Lol i'm not wrong at all. When people are saying 2k, 4k etc. they are referring to the horizontal number. That's literally correct. And yes the K means thousand, good job! Thanks for trying though.
But you are wrong. This is not 4K. This is not 3.5K (there is no such thing). This is UWQHD.

4k doesn't mean 4x dummy. K means thousand remember? It was called that because the actual standard was 4096 first. The home version was 3840 but close enough that it was still called 4k. By your reasoning 2k would be twice as many pixels as 1080p, but it isn't. 2k is literally 1080p. People really love being misinformed about this kind of thing. I don't blame you it's confusing stuff.
Whoah, now you're way off. 2K is not literally 1080p. You have no business calling anyone a dummy.

I think Twiggy was confusing QHD and 4K because quad and 4 are similar. They call 2K QHD because it has 4 times the pixels as 720p.

OLED is not bad for text, the pixel layout is

So is PPI an irrelevant measurement for OLED when trying to gauge crisp, clear text?

That's what I've previously used for monitor buying, and something most people don't look at. If OLED changes that, I'd love to know.

Also, so many people here claiming 'text looks fine' but we don't know you! For all we know, you're half blind, and/or not picky at all, and/or have been using bottom shelf, Apex monitors from WM in the past.

Also 2k resolution is literally 1080p my man. Originally called so because of the standard of 2048 × 1080, which for home version is 1920x1080. So there goes your argument I guess. I understand why you'd be confused, it's a messy subject. Please come at me some more and show us how much you don't know.
You are kind of right. 2K is very different than 1080p in television and monitor marketing. By definition, 1080p falls in the 2K category, but that is not what you'll see on a store website or on the box of a product. For marketing purposes, which basically determines how the average person will use the terms, 2K is 2560x1440. 1080p is 1920x1080. There are variations in the aspect ratios. For this monitor, the correct term is UWQHD or 1440p. UWQHD stands for Ultra Wide Quad High Definition, which means it's an extra wide QHD. QHD is another term for 2K, so this is an Ultra Wide 2K. The p in 1080p means progressive scan, which means all the pixels on the screen turn on and off at the same time, as compared to interlaced (i), where every other horizontal row turns on and off at the same time.

Pixels are made of red, green, and blue sub-pixels. The way these sub-pixels are arranged has an impact on how text looks. This is why the pixel density isn't the only contributing factor. When you have a pixel turned on next to a pixel turned off, like in black and white text editing, you can kind of see the edges of the sub-pixels in the black space. PPI helps, but the pixel arrangement is what causes text to look "weird" at least on Windows without some tools
check the "monitors(or hardware) unboxed" review of the monitor, they do mention it there and maybe the software that could fix that

I bought one of these during the sale around 3 weeks ago and it has the most annoying high pitched noise coming from the back. Dell was nice enough to send out a replacement and it's making the same noise.

Tempted to return since I don't use headphones and listening to that noise is doing my head in.

Semantics. Whether it's oled itself or the pixel layout ON oled, my point is using oled monitors is said to make text not clear.

Not sure what you mean on that other because you seem tobe saying they do all have fans, but you say they don't, so I'm not sure there. All i know is I don't want to hear a fan on a monitor. That would be horrible.

that's not the definition of semantics.... you don't see poor text on the million of OLED screen on Smartphones do you?

if you don't want a fan good for you.... but to get a high refresh rate display with high brightness INDIVIDUAL LEDs then you are getting a fan whether you like it or not, otherwise your monitor will die of overheat

Nobody brought up oled phones. I brought up oled monitors. And on the other, you first said no, then you said good ips screens do "not" have them, so was clarifying. Don't get mad at me for how you worded things.

I'm not a gamer and I'm sure this is a nice monitor, but I just purchased the Dell 34" version for $350.

That is true, but less than half the price of this one and for the money performs quite well. Just an alternative for people on a tighter budget.

I might have missed it in this thread, but in case no one said anything... This will combine nicely with the $120 off $599+ offer from AMEX. Just did this myself, and total with tax came to about $750.

How is this monitor for 100% office use? Will the usb-c connection charge a 2020 MacBook Pro? What about the 140w 2021 models?
Is there a cheaper alternative?
