Is this a good deal? How would these compare to Logitech z623 I currently have. Was wanting some better looking speakers

It's a great deal. These are fantastic for HT and music but you do need a sub and a proper AVR as they are designed to roll off bass below 80 Hz.

I think this might be the lowest they have ever been! Mind you these are larger speakers! Almost two feet high! I bought two at this price yesterday to fulfill a 9 speakers for my bed layer, these last two I will be using as front wides. Most of the rest of them I bought at around $300 or so.

What sub could you recommend pairing with these?

What's your budget? Good subs are expensive and you get what you pay for. I use a SVS SB2000 with mine and that works well in my room, but a larger room would benefit from a good ported sub or two. Ideally you'd have something that digs below 20 Hz to get the most from movie soundtracks.

This is a significantly superior speaker in every metric. However youre going to need a stereo amp since this is a passive speaker

All subs are good~ Theres not really any sub thats bad but ideally youd want a sub that can cross over at 80hz or have an amp w/ its own filter that crosses the sub at 80hz

Not sure if I agree with this one. Some cheaper subs are very one note, weak, and bloated. Probably on the low end I would look at the JBL that pops up for $150 every now and then. I personally am a big fan of SVS. If you wait for a open box sale they come down a bit. Still pricey, but you will be amazed what a sub with real slam can do for your movies.

I got these during the last deal in March. They are a steal for the price, considering you're getting atmos upfiring and a quality dual speaker. Atmos upfiring speakers themselves are almost $99 alone.

Like if you really need a true 20hz sub then you can def step up to like RSL speedwoofers, Rythmiks, etc, but since these have a response down to f0 120hz. its designed to have a cross @80hz which is in line w/ THX specification. The reason why its compatible w/ any subwoofer is because thats a relatively high point that most subwoofers can cross at. Ofc you can find subs that hit way lower, I use a Rythmik G25 and that goes down to a whopping 16hz but these speakers are designed to really pair w/ any sub so long as they go down to whatever LFE you need.
