I have also been watching the Monoprice to go on sale. Based on price history on SD, MP is $5 less, both are dual motor and 3 stages. Height range is almost the same as well. I ordered the Flexispot.

Monoprice vs Flexispot
Price: 160 vs 165
Motors: both dual
Stages: both 3
Weight Capacity: both 220 lbs
Height range(inch): 24.4 to 50 vs 23.6 to 48.8
Warranty: 1yr vs 5 yr

Thanks OP, have been waiting for a deal on a 3 stages, dual motor. Got one...

Can anyone comment on how is this compared to the Monoprice dual motor that has been on sale for 160 number of times...

Wondering the same. I am waiting for the Monoprice, but this looks decent too. Wish someone comments on the comparison.

Got monoprice for 150 (via ebay seller offers), but flexispot warranty makes more sense

I just ordered one of these. Thinking about pairing with a wood/butcher block countertop from a home improvement store like lowes or floor and decor.. 60" x 30" seems to be a standard size which is roughly my current desk size. There appear to be good options in the sub $200 range..

Does anyone know if this base can accommodate a 72x30 butcher block top?

I'm got the same question. I have a table top from Ikea with 74"x25" so still waiting for someone to have it confirmed.

While both can handle 220 lbs the amazon page for flexispot reads "maximum weight recommendation 287 lbs. -in case the extra weight is helpful.

Bullet pt under "about the item" said 220 lbs but Now I do see under "Product Information -> Item detail" says max weight of 287. Not sure which of the 2 numbers is correct one.

"QUIET DUAL MOTORS with 65% MORE LOADING CAPACITY: Lift and lower the sit stand desk with confidence even in the quietest room. The whisper-quiet dual motors could generate less than 50dB of sound when handle 65% more weight (up to 220 lbs total) than a single-motor desk, which is so quiet it won't disturb a sleeping baby."

"Maximum Weight Recommendation 287 Pounds"

This is a great unit. Have had mine for about 4 months, it is better than the commercial one at work (at least in terms of controls). Solid and comes well-packaged. My only complaint is lack of wire management...will sort this out one day as it is a mix of the desk wires and of course my own wires.

Desktop? Take a look at Ikea. They make some really nice ones, I personally like the engineered core as they are strong enough but very light.

Monoprice I got and just finally put it together over the weekend they have a better wire management tray across the bottom.

This was in almost a mirror copy of the monoprice I don't know about the quality but the monoprice is heavy duty and it's whisper quiet when raising or lowering. Very happy with purchase.

I am remodeling the home I bought so I considering it's not in its final location and desk size could change, I went with a cheap OSB top 6' x 30" and polyurethane the top of it. Total cost was about $20 and some time.

Ideally I would like a top with 6' length with minimum 30" depth, but I mostly see 6' x 25" everywhere.. if anyone sees a good deal on a 6' x 3' top please let me know. Thanks in advance...
