I'd put it this way:
Lenovo
- Wins on value usually ( not in this case )
- Great screens if you spend more than say $1100
- Great performance and thermals generally
- Great keyboards ( though ugly fonts on them )
Aliewnare
- Better design and build quality
- Even better keyboards
- If they took the stupid alienware head logo off of these these and made 1-2 tweaks to make them look less gamery, these would be probably the most attractive laptops on the market
- Slightly less performance, not-as-great-thermals
I prefer the Alienwares myself, compromises accepting
