There are lots of reviews of this bike on YouTube. Just use keywords "Hyper", "ebike" and "26". I skipped through a few....

Many people seem to have paid under $400 but some paid closer to $600. It weighs about 48 lbs. Seems to fit shorter to medium height people (5'2" to 5'10"). A tall rider complained.

It doesn't perform well as a real mountain bike. But does seem to to do okay on light trails or as an urban commuter. It has 3 levels of peddle assist. Manufacturer claims 20 miles range. People claiming to get up to 32 miles on the street or only 12 miles on light trail. Obviously, this depends on your weight, the route ridden, how hard you are peddling, which level of electric assist you are using etc.

It's peddle assist only with no throttle. It makes riding on flat ground and slight to moderate hills easier. Apparently it's not powerful enough to help much on very steep hill climbs. Since you normally won't be going over 20 mpg, V-brakes seem to be okay ...unless you need to stop fast while speeding down a steep hill.

Seems to be a decent value at $350 if you want some assist on easier commutes (or easy trail rides) around town.

Edit: It also has a lockable or removable battery. This seems like a great bike if you need to lock it up outside once in a while. A lot of people with expensive ebikes are even afraid to lock up their ebikes even briefly to go grocery shopping etc. But $350 is cheaper than lots of conventional commuting bikes.

V-brakes are fine if you know how to ride.

Hint: This isn't a bike that you would actually ride like a real mountain bike. Well, if you want to live, that is.

This is true. I went downhill on my v-brake road bike going 45mph a few years ago and I died.

I bought their full-suspension mid-drive mtb recently and am very happy with it.
I've emailed them a couple times since with questions and they respond very quickly, and in proper English (a rare thing when buying drop-shipped Chinese stuff).

V-brakes, oooofff.

I don't appreciate when people demand that bikes come with hydraulic brakes. I rode a real mountain bike downhill for years, and never needed hydraulic brakes. Disks are fine.

But V-brakes? That shit is just dangerous

I think it really just depends on what you're doing. Many people buy bikes like this and will never take them off road or over 20 mph.

Would this be a decent bike for quick errands in a relatively flat town, like under 2 miles? Would it be easy to mount a basket on it?

I'd put it as slightly more dangerous than walking under a coconut tree and dying from a coconut falling on your head.
