I have a similar Amazon one, and the holes get clogged so easily from the rough water out here (AZ). Not sure if I'd invest in another without some sort of filter.

"High Pressure" = your normal supply water pressure.
Nothing more, nothing less.

could increase force (velocity) by restriction so it penetrates long thick hair better..

could restrict less than last shower head ..
I fully agree, but that's not what my comment was about.

Not exactly. I got one of these free for testing. Yes, your water pressure matters, but how the head is constructed, with little beads, it will come out as "high pressure." Kind of like if you turn on your hose and put your finger over the end. You'll get a harder stream.

If you notice Amazon says there's a "newer version" for the same price. Only difference i can see is they removed the extension arm from it. So they're phasing out this one with the missing extension version
Missing extension, the handle also has an on/off switch, and it's $5 cheaper today. There are small differences between the parts used for the shower head port grommet that won't snap as easily. It's worth getting the newer version and buying a better quality extension, if you need it.

Yes, I understand that. We're looking at this in 2 different ways.
My point was that (for example) your home's water supply pressure is 45 psi and if you installed a pressure gauge on the body of the shower head, or even on the garden hose, the pressure reading will not exceed that original 45 psi, whether your thumb is mostly covering the hose outlet or not. It will only amount to 45 psi or LESS pressure at that outlet gauge.
The "high pressure" is only in the 'velocity/force' from the restriction, not in the pressure inside the unit or actual water pressure itself, before that outlet.
This is correct. Yes, it's not going to change your water pressure, but the head and wand will increase the pressure of the water coming through them. All those little white dots are little beads that the water is forced through.

I have a water softener. Hope it prevents that problem.

Pretty sure the flow restrictor is mandatory these days for manufacturers. I always take a drill and bore them out.
I've never not been able to just pop or pull them out. A new head I just installed a couple weeks ago came with 2 different restrictors, so you could have none, 1.8gpm or 2.5gpm. No drilling required Smilie

Why is everyone ignoring the fact that this woman is shown as six inches tall with three arms?

These things will not change your shower head's water pressure, having access to your home main water control will.

Bought 2 Veken ones, used them, but not happy with them. Having large number of holes sounds good, but it lowers the pressure.
House is a new build.
Water pressure might be higher in apartments to make this works. So take that into consideration before buying, and that might explain the varying experience shared here.

Edit: used with no filter included. Ended up switching to Moen and Kohler, water shooting out with higher pressure. That's how I know it's the showerhead issue. It's Boyle's law. Just sharing my real experience.

Tried prying one out of a delta shower head a while ago and it was simpler to just take a 3/8 drill and remove all the wire mesh. That rubber o-ring would not budge.

I think I did pry one out of my parents showers years ago but can't remember. It went from pretty decent shower head pressure to standing in front of a fire hose.
