I want this, but I'm on a well system and don't think I have a water meter. Can't seem to find anything that tells me if I can make this work or not.
Does anyone have any wisdom here? I have a jet pump in my basement, as opposed to a well pump in the well itself.
Thanks in advance!
If you are on a well it wont work. It reads the magnet spinner inside meters to mirror water usage which I doubt you have on those pumps. You might be better off with an inline system
Anyone come from Flume 1 and happy they moved over? I understand the battery is proprietary now. But I dunno if enough else is diff. I do have lifetime Flume Insight on Flume 1 and have no idea if that carries over.

I got one of these for $50 through my local water utility a year ago, also told 3-4 friends who each got one as well. Several of them said the alerts helped them quickly find broken sprinkler valves, leaky toilet flappers, and hose bibs that were left turned on. It's very accurate, and near real-time, with solid wireless connection from the meter sensor to the hub (and then to the app via wi-fi.
Sometimes I feel it's a little TOO sensitive on the alerts. I occasionally find it's noted a 0.01 gal/min (about a gallon every two hours) leak in an old alert, but when I check the usage history, the "leak" has stopped by itself after 10-20 minutes.
Flume 2 uses a proprietary battery, I think it's about $20-30 to replace, but after one year mine is still showing full charge, so I expect it'll last at least a few years or longer.

I moved over because my 1 kept using batteries way too quickly, even the fancy lithium ones. I am happy in terms of the unit, I'm confident when I need to do battery replacement I won't destroy the unit because of tons of tiny screws that strip easily.
The app and all is pretty much the same, nowhere near the Moen unit in terms of telling you which fixtures are using the water.
Also, even after contacting their support, their "integration" with b-hyve orbit sprinkler timer does nothing. Like you'll still get a leak alert even if your b-hyve is running sprinklers, this would be the most basic feature of their "integration" to me. Overall it's good for showing up to date usage and major leaks but if possible, consider the Moen.

These things work very well with Rainbird (and Ranchio I believe). The Moen while nice is also $400 to $500 and may require a plumber for install vs this being a 5 min install that almost anyone can do.

No, I would seriously recommend against the Moen device.
Every issue that requires repair will cost you to bring out a plumber.
I have Flume 1, it helped many times when there was a leak. I had to manually exclude leak detection when my sprinklers are scheduled to run. Flume 1 doesn't show the appliance based usage. Support team is really good if you have any issues with it. They have offered Flume 2 for cheaper, but never upgraded as flume 1 is serving the purpose already. It integrates with Homeassistant to show hourly water usage in the energy dashboard.

It isn't like we all know from the model name.
Thank you! Reps for posting a deal but only here to find out WTH this is and now that I don't need it.
