Warning - these have crap firmware that does not recover from sleep properly, or at least the 4TB one does because I have one. There's a firmware hack available here that's supposed to fix it, but YMMV, I have not tried it myself.

Thanks for the link 👍

FYI it's not a fw hack, but a fw update for the ASMedia controller used inside this crucial drive. That fw update fixes the sleep mode bug

You are correct, but I just want to be clear that it's not an "official" update from Crucial. The fact that they can't be bothered to take the upstream chipset firmware and issue their own official version doesn't reflect well on their product support.

So, I film events and when I send clients raw footage, I have been sending hard drives. I guess I send ssd's now. Ordered a few of these.

I heard that these slow down to as low as 80mbps once the cache is maxed out. If true, it is worse than a hdd. I hope it was fixed or is an error. this seems like a good deal, but that seems like a really bad aspect.

Technically yes, but this is a QLC drive and once the cache is full, the speed drops down to 150 MB/s, which is below the recommended 220 MB/s for iPhone video. I would spend a bit more and just go with Samsung T7 instead.

This slow down helps to avoid overheating.

Or just buy $65 2tb ssd plus $20 ssd enclosure for solid performance.
