Just note that this mask is the one that goes over the head and not behind the ears.

Disagree. I wear these on planes all the time and prefer it to the ones behind the ears as after 5-6 hours they begin to hurt.

The best respirator is the one that's used. Better than any faceplate filter that isn't a respirator.

When I was getting a medical procedure in late July, I wore this mask in the hospital. Was surprised at the lack of masks among patients and visitors especially older people. Nurses and doctors wore masks but they were the basic 3 ply surgical masks. When I had covid in mid august also continued to wear these masks. Usually had to use it once and then I usually hang it somewhere for days until I need it again. I still have some that I wore once each, not sure if I should trash them or many weeks later it may be too risky to use since when I originally used it had covid. More than likely I guess I'll just dump them and rebuy new ones and not risk it

ALL legitimate N95 masks are over the head. Trust me.
I wear N95 masks while commuting on my bicycle to work. Trying to avoid breathing in dust and particulates kicked up by cars.

*n95s are available as ear or headloop style, it's about an air-tight fit, and generally speaking, headloop is tighter than ear when like is compared to like which explains the better results from a headloop vs ear in high risk environments (KF94s are not available with headloop)

Edit: while there are n95s that are earloop, they are NOT niosh approved (because ear loop securing is less tight), but that doesn't make them counterfeit. (See project n95 as an example.)

no. thats not correct...

KN95 specification is ear loops
N95 is head loop

regardless.. if you just keep some distance away from ppl, even a surgical 3 lay mask should be fine for most ppl

I think technically you can wear a mask up to like 24 hours if in a clean environment. Aaron Collins (Mask Nerd) did some tests on YouTube.
