I haven't - but reading the amazon reviews I notice some people try to squeeze the gel out and put it on - really you want to just push the end onto your toilet first, then push the applicator peg in while it's pushed on the toilet - doing so I've gotten a good stamp every time, without any mess.

I could see an issue if I tried to push the gel out before I put the thing on the toilet.

That's how I do it. My only complaint is the scent can be a little overpowering, especially if you have the door shut.

Also, dont put the gel where the water gushes out mainly in front end of toilet. Place it in a spot where the water gently runs over it, it lasts longer.

My problem is that 6yo aims for it and makes a mess! I don't know if they do any cleaning but the scent is okay. I would definitely push to bowl wall before using the plunger to apply and probably on a dry bowl.

If your problem is it falling off after application, keep in mind that you'll have to apply it dry. Don't do it after you've just flushed. It won't adhere well to a wet, smooth surface.
