A trimmer is mainly used for trimming around the ears or lining up hairlines and beards. This wouldnt be used to cut length other than maybe with a clipper over comb technique.

I am looking for my 15yr old teenage son.. I don't want a close shave for him but just enough so his facial hair won't look bad/weird. Would this be good or should I go with something like a electric shaver or razor? I don't want him to be shaving so young.

I have the silver version of this. It's really good. Like, it's still just a shaver at the end of the day, but it's def a premium way to trim up the beard edges.

As others mentioned, these are the trimmers NOT the clippers. They are used to clean up lines, not cut your hair. You know, necklines, beard line, around the ears type stuff. It's a good set.

Price is OK, not remarkable. I just bought some last week from VIP Barber Supply for 95 after tax.

Also, this trimmer + shaver set GoldFX was on sale for $130 last week, which is a much better bargain IMO.

Absolutely not unless you want to hear "dad, i cut my face!" Get panasonic arc5 for your son as a starter shaver. It's great, safe and I have two for 2 boys 16 and 17. It's almost idiot proof for teenagers...
