JB Tools is a legit Dewalt dealer. Complaints about this being counterfeit were because it came in a cardboard box instead of clamshell. I bought two in August and they were both genuine.
They were 54.99 in August.

thanks for clarifying, It was unclear from the reviews who the seller was, I'll wait for some better pricing - hopefully black friday or holiday deals.

With the extra 10% Off, it's not a bad deal., but still 6.00 more than in the summer.
The over molding is really nice if you're using this on an impact.

I have use a regular 1.7 in my impact. Works great. Things like my planer or router need a lot of power, but not all of them. Radio or fan will work for a few hours just fine.
It's funny, back in the the nicad 18v dewalt days, that was a standard size battery. Those tools were brushed motors and way less efficient than modern tools and we got by with those little batteries, until the XR batteries came out.
I was thinking the same thing when I saw these, I still think they should have at least been 2ah.
Finally decided to give it a try. They really are nice on an impact due to size/power output. Haven't ran one down in a single use yet.
Tried one in a reciprocating saw, that was a short run. Won't do that again.
It's more compact and light, which is nice for compact drills/impact wrenches that you might hang from your jeans while working on a ladder. Usually smaller batteries come with the trade off of lower peak power output, but the 1.7aH powerstack manages to perform as good or better than dewalt's XR 5aH batteries.

Could not find Jbtools as an authorized dealer via dewalt website. Could you please point me to the right direction? I wanna jump on the deal but want that warranty.

I checked dewalt site and didn't see them either. Maybe they aren't anymore. They did ship me two genuine batteries, but maybe that is why they are so low priced.
