Apple was forced to use USB C by the EU so unless they don't want to sell in the EU, I doubt they will be switching connector anytime soon.

Apple used lightning for 10 years and finally switched to the industry standard USB-C on iPhones. "Apple keeps going back and forth with their inputs" lol unless we are counting the 30 pin connector that was last used 11 years ago…

Mophie is a real brand, rather spend $6 on 1 cable vs $12 for 6 crappy no name brand cable.

Any good usb to usbc deals ?
Not really a slickdeal because the cable has always been around this price, but the Mophie C to C cable seems to be the cheapest one that can achieve something approaching USB 3.1 transfer speeds (speed confirmed by the Mobile Reviews Eh channel). All the other cables under $20 and most under $30 appear to be USB 2.0 cables with C connectors.

Anker 310 USB C to USB C Cable (6ft , 2 Pack) , (60W/3A) Fast Charge for Samsung Galaxy S22 , iPad Pro 2021 , iPad Mini 6 , iPad Air 4 , MacBook Pro 2020 , Switch (USB 2.0) https://a.co/d/1W4jFo6

Here is another deal on USB C-C. Has good reviews, too. And it's a 2 pack for $8.98 while it lasts. If you don't see the price that I see, it's possible that it might be prime only deal. Thanks.

I agree with you, but they still do pull some questionable stuff like the base model of the new iPhone 15 and the Plus have data transfer speeds are capped at 480 Mbps as USB 2.0. It's kind of crazy to me to charge so much for a phone and giving consumers transfer speeds that were around 23 years ago. USB has come so far since then. I know this doesn't matter for most people buying those phones, but it should be at least mentioned.
The reason for this is that SoC literally doesn't have a usbc controller on it. They are using the same SoC from last years pro model.
Now is that an excuse for lightning having never gone above usb2.0, of course not. But I give a little more wiggle room if there is a technical reason for it.
This move looks more to me like they already had orders in for the SoC volume to include the iPhone 15 before the law was passed and they aren't going to just throw away working chips.

My household is already Lightning cable-free, now I need to just give away a bunch of lightning cables I no longer need. I hope I never need to use one again. These should be heavily discounted.

I made a bad choice and picked up a 4S in '14 as my first iPhone because I wanted a small phone at the time. Still had that jumbo connector but, yeah, it's been almost a decade since that was discontinued. It's been a shame seeing tons of accessories for that connector at thrift stores that can never be used again. Hopefully Bluetooth and USB-C help stop the waste.
They sell adaptors for cheap. I use one on my car which still has the old school connector.

Just to clarify, the Lightning connector is history sooner than later, as the EU rule means (USB) C to C will be required starting 1/1/24.

Reportedly yes, but it's not as fast as many newer Android devices will allow... I think Apple is 20 or 30w max. I have a couple of newer Android phones that do 40w+ on my Anker portable power pack, which can do (according to the manufacturer) 140w either way, yet only charges at 90w+ by a supposedly 100w charger, though it's not a big name brand.

While I love MagSafe, using this USB-C to lightning cable will charge your device much faster. This is great when you need to get some quick juice to recharge in a short time.

Isn't how fast a phone charges based more so on the charging brick instead of the cable?
