I do a little bit of reselling of Lego sets mostly to help fund the ones I want to keep since I love Lego, but it's an expensive hobby. There are some things to consider. First off, this set is huge, so the cost to ship it to a buyer is going to be steep. Secondly, if you use a site like eBay, the fees are going to take another big chunk. Third, the projected retirement for this set is mid 2025, so you will have to hold this for a couple of years before you will start to see a decent increase in value.

Not to say this set isn't a great deal, but you won't make a ton of money reselling it as is. Parting it out would be more profitable, but that is a huge hassle. If you are interested in building this ship but don't care about minifigures, there are 3 in this set worth about $50 each. That's a great way to reduce your net cost. You can also build the ship, display it a couple months, then carefully disassemble in reverse rebagging the parts and sell the set as used to further reduce your net cost.

Wow, glad I resisted the Amazon deal. The UCS Gunship is also 30% off. Man, I don't know if I want to wait for the Steamboat Willie GWP that's supposed to start on 10/15/23 per rumors.

edit: looks like Steamboat Willie GWP is not until 10/23 at the earliest since the current one runs until 10/22.
