This fluctuates a lot, but this is the lowest I've seen it. Triple camel shows it lower once, but otherwise never below $115. Limited to z-wave users.

That means you don't trust any lock then. Any lock can be defeated.
These lock works with the ring home hub if you already have it. I have 2 kwikset locks connected to my ring app via the hub.
Yes. This Kwikset uses the "SmartKey" system and you can key it to match existing locks in your home.

ok senior checking in here--is Z Wave just an app that i would have to install, or is it a program id have to pay for, like maybe the ring app?
It's a communication system like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. you'll need to buy a controller hardware to use it. If you don't plan on buying more z wave devices this may not be worth your time.

Nowhere near the knowledge of LPL, but specs on the Kwikset site specify this is a Grade 2 lock, which, from my understanding, is the second best (to grade 1, of course).

Grade 2 lock specs (from parkavenuelocks.com [parkavenuelocks.com])

ANSI Grade 2 locks are rated by ANSI for commercial usage but in areas where there is standard traffic flow. In order to qualify for an ANSI Grade 2 rating, each locks has to go through 400,000 opening and closing cycles, 4 strikes to the door with a hammer and a 250 lb. weight test.

LPL had a video where he shows how to modify a Kwikset keyway pinset to secure it. He mentioned that it's what he uses at his home.

An app or a program? These are the same thing.
Also, the ring app is free, you pay for the optional subscription with ring.

I've had this lock since March and paid $150. It's been rock solid for the most part. It recently started acting weird and would no longer lock electronically and then knob was hard to turn by hand. Tech support had me
install new batteries and reset the handing on it and now its good again. So maybe some small software bugs but nothing major.

Looking at the pictures I wish the "traditional" style was this price as it would better match the door handle and the Schlage deadbolt it will replace, but it should still look good enough.

Hopefully the batteries last a while.

I picked up two of the traditionals on ebay for about $80 a piece brand new like 3 weeks ago.

Good call. Looks like lots of availability and a seller doing $76ea when you buy two. Works for me!

amazon basic has one for like $26. I bought one and it works well for me. Set your passwords and up to 10 can be stored. Press the lock/unlock button to lock your doors when you are outside. comes with 2 keys. uses 4 AA batteries. Not a smart phone item do but like the name its the basic and it works.

Can anyone recommend a smart lock for a security door (those steel doors)? It looks something like this: SCREEN TIGHT 25160212 Security Door, 36", Black https://a.co/d/cMNOPsM

It has a different type of lock position than regular doors and I'm not seeing anything that can be hooked onto this, so would like anyone's suggestion. Greatly appreciated!

I have one on our front door. It has been in use for 5 months and has 90% battery per SmartThings app. Will vary significantly depending on frequency of use.
