The downvotes are probably towards your response to the information on the laptop. They're most likely showing that they don't agree with your assessment that it should be a hard pass for that reason. I personally really like backlit keyboards, but I know others that see them as completely useless (at best, just a pointless extra cost, and at worst, a battery drainer).

Great to see this price point return with a Dell that is equipped with a touch screen (after a string of deals at this price point being equipped with the 120Hz non-touch screen).

Plenty of users will gripe about the 8GB of RAM... but this price point and configuration would allow users with the immediate need an easy upgrade (this laptop has two SO-DIMM slots, one of which is available), while those users running no more than a few browser tabs and/or Word will find 8GB sufficient for now.

Another nice bonus is the fact that this manages to be Zen 3 based.

Good luck!

Definitely one of the everyday compromises is the power source. This should be a non-issue for those not optimizing for portable/mobile usage (where having a single adapter for your phone/tablet/laptop is facilitated by USB-C). Of course, one of the old-school systems for consolidating power is using the laptop USB ports for device charging while using the laptop brick for connection to wall power. Of course, this limits the charging rate of any connected devices. Shoppers for a killer college student configuration might otherwise keep holding out if that's an option.

However, another typical compromise implemented in this configuration is the Realtek RTL8821CE 1x1 wireless adapter. This limits your throughput to a maximum 433Mbps via Wi-Fi. Fortunately the documentation suggests that this platform supports an adapter with a 2x2 configuration using the Realtek RTL8852BE. Hopefully the internal connections might be available for those interested in upgrading this at some point(?). This problem may not be meaningful for a large group of users, but it is worth mentioning given the increasing availability of gigabit+ internet speeds

Good luck!
Jon

Most gaming laptops are at least 5lbs. I saw one the other day that was 7lbs. So at 3.59lbs, this Dell is fairly light. I'm not sure you could get much lighter without spending over $500.

My price breakdown:
- Listed price: 349.99
- Coupon 1: ARMMPPS
- Coupon 2: Unique 10% off sent to email
- Total before tax: 308.69

Out of pocket expenditure: 308.69 + Tax - $50 (Amex promo that expires on 10/18/2023) = 258.69 + Tax

I checked out with Amex card and Amex sent confirmation about pending cashback within a minute.

Yea, this 7530U is only a Zen 3. Not Zen 3+. The item description is wrong and needs to be updated.

This is basically just a 5625U from last year but with slightly faster clock speed. As a result, it's still running Vega graphics.

Still a good deal, but info needs adjustment.

I assume this works with the same promo code ARMMPPS - and unique 10% off coupon code you receive via email = $308.69?
For $308.69 this is kinda a crazy deal.
To be perfectly honest, I'm not getting this. I'm still looking for a nice laptop with USB C charging.
Can someone advise on how to get 10% off coupon? TIA

If you type Dell 10% in slickdeals search, the second deal gives a link. The link asks for your name and email address. Wait a few minutes and you'll get a 10% off coupon.
