This is a mediocre price on a decent (but not great) fragrance.
OP is incorrect - you can get some FANTASTIC EDPs (and other frags) for much less than $50.
This is typically $45-ish (or less) at fragrance discounters. So yeah... this is no slick deal.
FWIW - I currently own 60+ bottles and have collected for years. I don't have the nose to dissect this stuff down to each note like some people, but enjoy the hobby and have enough interest to know what the market is.
Does this have a similar scent to Khiel's musk oil?
You can always try checking www.fragrantica.com[fragrantica.com] to see but - to be blunt - there are so many better frags at same or lesser price I wouldn't spend money on this one unless you have a specific reason/adore the scent.

It's a hobby? Are they collectible? Must be, never thought of this…

Can you share who your trusted discounters are, please? This scent comes from Macy's, so I know I can trust them.
Genuinely curious: What are the other <50$ 100ml fragrances that are Parfum (not toilette) considered better than this deal?
I am nose blind when it comes to identifying notes and ingredients. I just know if I like it or not..
For reference, my fav for many years have been Ralph Lauren Polo Blue, Bleu de Chanel, and at some point I used to like the CK Intense. How does this compare to them?

So Macy's does have good sales SOMETIMES on fragrances, but it has to be a sale price. Can't hurt to check.
Fragrance discounters I use are www.fragrancebuy.ca[fragrancebuy.ca] and www.jomashop.com.[com.] I recently started using www.fragranceshop.com[fragranceshop.com] - however, just know that while they have really good prices (for the most part) they are a small NJ-based company and move slowly (so you WILL get your frags but they could take a week or two from time to order).

Fragrancelux on ebay is good.
Amazon is good.
Fragrancenet and Fragrancex also good.
If you want to buy in bulk like 4 colognes at a time fragrancebuy is great and cheapest.
I recommend the following for winter:
Khamrah- 35 bucks
The One- 40 bucks discounter
Le Male Parfum
Armani Code Absolu/Profumo
Angel Men Pure Malt
I'm not going to debunk the whole post, but consider this - both Armani Code Absolu and Angel Men Pure Malt were both discontinued a LONG TIME AGO.
Those discounters don't really discount much these days.
