I got $5000 limit on my personal CC, is it bad idea for credit score to spend all of $3k in the same month?
The fix for that is send the payment first-- you can overpay a card, have a negative balance, then charge to offset it.
USUALLY the balance is reported when the statement closes, so you could in theory pay AFTER the charge as long as it clears before it closes, but not much reason to wait if you want to be sure not to have a large % used reported.
few questions from y'all
and background: I claimed this deal over 2 years ago so I should qualify
overall does it matter if I apply to personal vs. business card first?
i know the personal ends today so may have to apply to that first
questions on the business card application though on what to input into certain fields:
- For authorizing title: any recommendations? it says like member, owner, partner, president etc? I'm thinking Owner
- then under the main business info section:
- Business legal name? i think last time you just put your full first and last name, example: JOHN DOE (no need for middle right)
- For Tax ID Type, I don't have an EIN so I was just going to use SSN
- # of employees? is it okay to just put 0? i think so but wanted to confirm
- Business established data and revenue? any suggestions here like minimum time I should put for that date? as well as minimum revenue?
- Any examples of what to pick for business category, type and sub type? and estimated monthly spend
I know its a lot of questions but wanted to see what stuff other folks were putting in on most cases and recommendations. Also to circle back, any issues if i apply to the personal first since it's about to expire or is it highly recommended to apply for the business card first?
Thanks SD gang!

Earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 on purchases in the first 3 months your account is open, plus 50,000 more bonus points after spending $12,000 total on purchases in the first 12 months.
1/2/2022 Opened card and made first purchase
2/4/2022 Received my first 50k points
4/4/2022 Received my second 50k points
My card is now closed. To wait the 24 months and get the points again do I have to wait past the 1/2, 2/4, or the 4/4?
The details of the new card state you could not have received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. (do you think that 4/4 second 50k points counts?)
also
This does not apply to Business Card and Employee Credit Card products. The card I got was a Plus Personal card so I think I could just open the Business one and get the 80k and be okay?

Yes we'd be forfeiting 5% ($250) by not using Amazon prime visa on those future $5k of amazon purchase, but seems like a quick way to hit minimum spend.
Has it been confirmed that gift card purchases count toward the min spend?

Why wouldn't it? Chase doesn't care WHAT you spend money on- just that you spend it.
All that to say, I had closed my account on Nov 29, 2023, and the CSR said I would not be eligible to receive the bonus again for 24 months past the close date. So Nov 2026 I will be eligible again. This is contrary to everything I've read online.
Those of you that have been down this road please confirm or correct. Thank you.
