worth it for those who will use it heavily imo.

Some people just switch to solid tires, but mounting them the first time is also a big PITA and they are not comfortable on rougher roads.

I've bought two scooters off walmart.com now. The first failed after about six months of frequent use. Had zero luck making repairs. It took a few calls and I had to convince a bike shop to write me a letter stating the scooter was 'beyond economic repair' but eventually I got a full refund of the original purchase price.
Second is going strong but it's still reassuring knowing I have the warranty.
I prefer standing as I can move quickly if needed.
It looks like gotrax sells replacement batteries for this model for ~$115 using `BATT15` discount code w/ free shipping on their site. Couldn't find any aftermarket options in the usual places.
Opinions on value for this since I don't know how to gauge this?

I bought a ~$600 scooter from Walmart, used it, found it to be unacceptably unstable, and quickly returned it for a full refund.
By the time I got to work, I already lost 2 out of 4 battery bars. The ride was only around 4 miles. It's not the fault of the scooter though; I'm sure my weight has to do something with it. Being able to get to my work from the train station with at least 50% battery is good enough for me.
Out of curiosity, I decided to look around for more info on this scooter and found out that the manufacturer is selling it refurbished at the same price a Walmart:

Now I'm wondering if this scooter I brought was refurbished or not. I hope there's no sketchy thing going on with the Walmart listing....
Also, Gotrax is also having their black friday sale... and they're selling a more better model with bigger battery size and stronger motor; $30 more gets you bigger tires and even more battery:

Granted, it's refurbished... but, again, seeing that Gotrax is selling the same one from Walmart at the same price make me wonder if it's new or not....

The main reason I bought the Walmart was for the 3-yr warranty; how does that compare to the better refurb from Gotrax?

I'm just saying (with a tin foil hat on... I should have noted previously) that the Gotrax website is selling the same one from Walmart for $198 but Gotrax saying it's refurbished. I'm just hoping Walmart didn't deceive buyers selling as new when it's refurbished... if it's new, that's great. If not, kinda wish I took some time to look into options.
All that being said, you're right on the last statement. Buying that 3-warranty from Walmart for $22 is a better option than Gotrax which doesn't have much warranty at all for refurbished... at least from what I can find; warranty is 2 years from Gotrax but doesn't state if it's new AND refurbished. So if anything, I'm still content with my purchase... just didn't think I would get into electric scooters so quickly after using it for a day.

Anyway, I checked the box again from Walmart (Rival) and I'm looking over everything closely and then I opened it just today. I've seen alot of refurbs and this doesn't look like a refurb, everything is nice and sealed and factory wrapped. It even has that new product smell. Besides Walmart sold me a 3-yr warranty which I doubt they would provide on a refurb. Honestly, I think the Walmart could be a price mistake.
