Does Walmart warranty cover flat tire? Are these scooters easy to fix flat tires?
Have you ever replaced bike tires? I felt like it was a little bit more difficult and required a new technique, and changing bike tires isn't necessarilly cake unless you do it a lot and get used to a technique. So it isn't impossible if you are used to doing work like this yourself, but if you don't I wouldn't call it easy.

Some people just switch to solid tires, but mounting them the first time is also a big PITA and they are not comfortable on rougher roads.

3 year warranty can be added for $22 -

worth it for those who will use it heavily imo.
Absolutely worth it for any adult scooter. There are almost no shops that will work on these, there's very little official documentation online for making repairs, and while GoTrax is a reputable brand, I doubt they're going to replace your scooter after six months or a year.

I've bought two scooters off walmart.com now. The first failed after about six months of frequent use. Had zero luck making repairs. It took a few calls and I had to convince a bike shop to write me a letter stating the scooter was 'beyond economic repair' but eventually I got a full refund of the original purchase price.

Second is going strong but it's still reassuring knowing I have the warranty.

Agreed, 35 is too fast. I'm fine with 20 mph and I am going to start wearing a helmet.

I prefer standing as I can move quickly if needed.
I maintain about 20mph on my road bike on flat ground for 20-30 miles

Same, It was initially going to be "delivered" next day but it just changed to "shipped". Looks like UPS accepted the package and should be here in a few days

Those that have this for a while can you comment on battery longevity?

It looks like gotrax sells replacement batteries for this model for ~$115 using `BATT15` discount code w/ free shipping on their site. Couldn't find any aftermarket options in the usual places.

Opinions on value for this since I don't know how to gauge this?

Mine was set for delivery on 11/1 and arrived 10/30. Came 75% charged, seems pretty solid build-wise. Only had a chance to ride/test it once but it reaches 15.5mph as shown in YT videos. The steps-to-fold are a bit annoying but I guess it's good to have the additional step to avoid accidentally having it fold mid-go. Only annoying thing I noticed in testing thus far is that it doesn't always "go" once you kick-off and press down. I've ridden a lot of Lime scooters, and a few other brands, have never had that issue w/ any other scooter. Would suck to have that happen when you're crossing a road or something.

Light use should be ok but I wouldn't ride it more than a few blocks or 1/4 mile.

I bought a ~$600 scooter from Walmart, used it, found it to be unacceptably unstable, and quickly returned it for a full refund.

I took the scooter on its first work commute from the train station to my work. I rode fine until it got to one of the hills that were too steep for it to go up (it's a route that goes under a car road). Thankfully, if you hold the throttle and use your foot to go up the hill, the motor provides assistance to go up the hill as you use your foot... kinda like pedal assist I suppose.

By the time I got to work, I already lost 2 out of 4 battery bars. The ride was only around 4 miles. It's not the fault of the scooter though; I'm sure my weight has to do something with it. Being able to get to my work from the train station with at least 50% battery is good enough for me.

Out of curiosity, I decided to look around for more info on this scooter and found out that the manufacturer is selling it refurbished at the same price a Walmart:

https://gotrax.com/products/certi...af5c&_ss=r

Now I'm wondering if this scooter I brought was refurbished or not. I hope there's no sketchy thing going on with the Walmart listing....

Also, Gotrax is also having their black friday sale... and they're selling a more better model with bigger battery size and stronger motor; $30 more gets you bigger tires and even more battery:

https://gotrax.com/products/refur...7169539187

Granted, it's refurbished... but, again, seeing that Gotrax is selling the same one from Walmart at the same price make me wonder if it's new or not....

I see the XR1 is a refurb but how are you supposed to determine that if you don't look at the URL?

The main reason I bought the Walmart was for the 3-yr warranty; how does that compare to the better refurb from Gotrax?

Nice lightweight scooter to take on trains or the bus, but not enough power for my area. Good if you live in a flat area.

I'm honestly very confused from your first sentence. Are we talking about the Walmart URL or the URLs I provided in my post? Both of the URLs I posted says refurbished.

I'm just saying (with a tin foil hat on... I should have noted previously) that the Gotrax website is selling the same one from Walmart for $198 but Gotrax saying it's refurbished. I'm just hoping Walmart didn't deceive buyers selling as new when it's refurbished... if it's new, that's great. If not, kinda wish I took some time to look into options.

All that being said, you're right on the last statement. Buying that 3-warranty from Walmart for $22 is a better option than Gotrax which doesn't have much warranty at all for refurbished... at least from what I can find; warranty is 2 years from Gotrax but doesn't state if it's new AND refurbished. So if anything, I'm still content with my purchase... just didn't think I would get into electric scooters so quickly after using it for a day.

Walmart doesn't sell the XR1 that I can find so let's talk about the XR1 at Gotrax. I see the URL says "refurb" in it but why doesn't the product page say URL? When checking over the entire page, if I had not seen the entire URL that is normally hidden or truncated on my browser, I would have thought I was buying new. Do you see "refurb" anywhere on that page?

Exactly the Gotrax website says refurb all over it for teh Rival but it doesn't say that for XR1.

Anyway, I checked the box again from Walmart (Rival) and I'm looking over everything closely and then I opened it just today. I've seen alot of refurbs and this doesn't look like a refurb, everything is nice and sealed and factory wrapped. It even has that new product smell. Besides Walmart sold me a 3-yr warranty which I doubt they would provide on a refurb. Honestly, I think the Walmart could be a price mistake.
