I have had three of these. 2 out of 3 shut off randomly with no low battery alarm dumping the rider. Luckily no major injuries, just a few bruises. I still have the third. So far the low battery alarm seems to work, but I try to keep it fully charged as I don't trust them for valid reasons.

Wish they would list the battery capacity instead of range, which is a subjective metric.

An 11 year old neighborhood girl fractured her wrist while hanging out with my kids in our driveway. She was on this while dribbling a basketball. When she first fell and started crying, first words out of her mouth were: my mom is going to be mad---she's still paying off my last accident medical bill. 11 years old and realizing life is expensive....

Kids should not be given motorized rider toys. Even the ride in car toys were limited to 4mph. Crazy rweens with no helmet, drunk on hormones, routinely try to run my kids down on the sidewalk riding 50lbs electric bikes at 25mph.

This is not a helicopter parent issue, it's the jones jealously and let's throw power tools at my kids and hope for the best issue

My buddy and I purchased the exact item from amazon but the "certified used" ones and we've had no issues for over a year now. Fantastic hoverboard compared to smaller versions. The rubber tires makes riding smoother vs. hover board with hard rubber wheels.

Do these really work off road? Like can you use it on lawn or dirt/gravel? Or does it have to be pretty much a paved surface like others?

The "go-carts" we made out of old shopping carts and 2x4s rolling down the city streets were way more dangerous than these motorized toys. Limited to no brakes, shady construction, no safety features or helmets, etc. Yet we made it to adulthood just fine.
