Had a similar 4k model that developed a vertical line of dead pixels in 10 months. After more 3rd degree that I've typically experienced, LG informed me that if I ship the monitor back in non-LG packaging, they will NOT guarantee how it comes back to me. They will not send a shipping box. They did, however, offer shipping both ways on their dime.
FYI, this is reason for me to avoid LG monitors in the future.

Purchased 58-68, 500/600 ones for our office 20-30 of them. Use them at home too.
Looks great, used for coding, CAN be used for gaming if you're just doing 60hz gaming. Great for productivity.
But like others of said no usb-c, and their usb-c ones are amazing cause I think they provide 61/87 watt charging too. But if you're okay with missing out on that it's a great monitor still.

Do you somehow think that somewhere between 5" and +55" they cracked the code on this whole curvature gimmick?
Why not buy a Quest 3 if that's the case? You can use virtual desktop and have as many gimmicky monitors as you want for the same price as buying one decent curved monitor at MSRP.

While I think the person you replied to was being dramatic, your argument is flawed because of the viewing distance difference to a monitor versus a television. Curved is almost a must for me with a larger/ultrawide monitor.

So they've figured out Curved tvs are not really helpful due to size and distance but curved monitors do provide better viewing angles and allows the eye to pickup better overall viewing especially some gaming situations and also for designing or most other uses.

You'll have to change the monitor's viewing orientation to portrait mode in the operating system (i.e., Windows) to get it to work in that manner.
