could just be my area; but the only time of year i see orange or purple lights is halloween

Purple all the time in my 'hood. In for one. LIGHT THE BEAM.
Get a $25 buck converter and a 5 dollar plug adapter and a 130 dollar 6 volt battery and that should fix your battery problem. Or just spend a few more dollars on something better
