With temperature control as being such an important factor in a quality espresso, I recommend aiming for something better if you can afford it. There are other factors too such as grind size, fresh beans, puck prep, etc. Be prepared to go down an expensive rabbit hole if choosing this route and do extensive research before buying!

This was my first espresso machine that got me started and it works quite well.
It can be converted to a legit non-pressurized espresso maker if you remove the plastic piece from the portafilter, but then a real grinder becomes a must.

When it comes espresso machine. Good luck finding a basic one under $299 like the Breville Bambino. refurb $235 from Breville https://remanufactured.
