No. There is always one master Deco unit. Ethernet is to connect the Deco units together, the idea is not to use wireless signal between the units, that way full 5Ghz( or 2.4) is free for wifi devices. Those Deco devices have 2 ports and you can still plug PC to second port.
W7200 is better option if you have no option for backhaul ethernet, as is tri-band unit and can use one band for connectivity between Deco units and other 5Ghz(2.4Ghz) is completely free. If you do not plan to have a cable between the devices W7200 is better. Hope this helps !

Thank you ! Got one set. Been using Deco systems for long time. Stable and easy to configure. Supports AP mode also. If you have ethernet wired backhaul Deco W3600 is perfect if no W7200 would be the best option for this price.

Solid deal! I got three X60 and three EX5300s and they work excellent! Might get these to toss in the back rooms.

You seem knowledgeable, may I ask. Does that mean if one wants to use Ethernet from each router to a connect wired device they need the 7200 which is twice the price? What is the backhaul option/need and is it worth this cost?

If you don't want to wire a place with Ethernet you can buy the 6E version which has the option to use the 6GHz band as a dedicated wireless backhaul this still works while set to AP mode.

Yes they can. I would probably use these as the main routers and the s4 as additional coverage.

Yep, limit of Deco is 10 nodes if I recall correctly. I would use these as main router though.

Interesting my deco M9 plus supports tri-band, and the TP-Link Deco W3600 doesn't.

These dual band mesh systems are the only ones under $100; more or less, they're just updating the Wi-Fi protocol each generation and not much else. The deco m9 was/is a very competant AC mesh system.

If you have a wired coax network in your home, you can always use MoCa as the backbone; then any of these mesh solutions will work well, with stability being the main variable between brands.

If you do not, triband solutions will be magnitudes faster. The 2.4g will always be the limiting factor in anything less.
