M12 is great for most people, if you need more power you would know. Also, keep in mind this is impact not drill

This is 100%. I'd take the Milwaukee 12 volt over Ryobi 18. It's great and has enough power for most anything. If you're doing something that needs more, like you said, you'd know it.

The best part of these M12 tools is how small they are. This will fit in your jeans pocket. Get it!

I grab this before anything else because of how small it is. It's also powerful enough to take off my car lug nut.

Be warned though, if you get this you'll soon buy other M12 tools. I set an "M12" alert and now have like 5 tools.

I will say, my 5yr old M18 base model has built more than its fair share of projects and keeps going. So while M12 fuel is great, M18 is hardly junk.

I work maintenance and this thing is a beast!!! I ran the m18 bluetooth for a few years to find that it's too heavy, if you're not working constriction where you need every ounce of battery and power, you're running lags and drilling into concrete…yes grab the m18 fuel…if not…pick yourself up this m12 fuel. I pack mine with the 6amp battery and this thing last me about 2-3 weeks without charging.

In addition there's limited things that are great on the m12 series… fuel hacksaw, fuel multi tool, fuel cut off tool and fuel ratchet tool. That's it… everything else I run on m18…. Fuel Bluetooth radio, fuel hacksaw, fuel angle grinder, fuel snake drains, fuel rocket light, fuel blower, fuel pole saw, fuel cordless vacuum… might as well be a power ranger haha

The stubby, installation tool, the surge are great too. New Fuel jigsaw is promising, and the drill is a lot lighter than an 18v and will meet 99% of most people's needs.
