Not Slick. Comes out to 18.7 cents/ea. You can get a 144 pack of Meeco's starters (basically the same thing) from Mendard's for $11.56 (8 cents each). Even at regular price, the Meeco's are a lot cheaper.

Usually by now there's at least one post extolling the use of dryer lint, wax and egg cartons.
I wouldn't advocate this, good way to potentially kill the tree.

"Removing it may harm the inner bark and cambium. The wood beneath that peeled section may turn black, and the tree will get sick or even die. To keep our birches healthy, it is best to wait for that beautiful bark to fall off on its own."

If this is fire we are talking about, I say get a blow torch and a magnifying glass as your backup
or one match light charcoal per fire you need to start

good point!

thanks, was hoping for a DIY solution that others in this forum may have used instead of buying their fire starters.
I use homemade firestarters in mine - 1lb wax melted then add 1/3 C liquid paraffin lamp oil, and pour into little paper condiment cups filled with pet cedar shavings, saw dust or dryer lint

Amazon will have all of it. There are a lot of youtube videos as well - some just use cotton and the wax and some are more elaborate. The ones I make burn for about 15 minutes

Love the flavor from my 560 but after 3 years it's in very rough shape compared to other grills I've owned.

I can second that! I have a BC (Before-COVID) Traeger that has had 0 issues, but have replaced door switches and even the display on my MB 800 that's under 1 year old.

i use any random uncoated cardboard, packing paper, charcoal bags for the charcoal chimney

for burn barrels or firepits i use dryer lint + packing paper + pine sap chunks i got from a big downed tree packed into a toilet paper roll

but these things would work too Cool

I use Panera bread, Einstein bros bagels and taco bell paper bags which are not wax coated. And some paper towels after using them to season the cast iron dutch ovens or pans. That oil is good enough to last few more seconds.

Just take a old jam or pickle jar and put about a 1/2 inch of gasoline in it. Keep adding packing foam until all the gas is absorbed and you have a putty like substance. Bam, homemade fire starter. Been using this for 20 years.
