Damn I have been trying to stick with one system Miluwakee but it's getting hard to beat Ryobi stuff esp for dyi and stuff I don't use that often. I guess can't be bad to stick with two systems. Batteries and my 1 gallon shop vac pick up in store today. The other tool not available today and will be end of the month. I guess that saves me a trip to return and can just call and cancel it once I get my batteries and shop vac today. Thanks op.
Well don't get Ryobi because their battery design so bad it won't fit any adapter if you want to use it with your Milwaukee. At least get Ridgid. Also Ryobi feel like garbage Chinese quality. I'm invested mostly in M12 and M18 but also own Makita, Dewalt and Bosch. I use adapters to use all the tools with my Milwaukee batteries.

Grabbed this today, but I'm keeping the tool. I needed some more ryobi batteries and an angle grinder anyway.

I will say the Ryobi tools feel "cheaper" than my older Bosch and Dewalt tools. Primary feel difference is the crappy trigger frankly. And they ARE cheaper. But reviews say they hold up well, my friends who do quite a bit of DIY say they hold up well... I'll have my own opinion in a couple of years. Worst case, I upgrade down the road.

Many places do according to some of the other hack threads, but not all of the employees care or know that. All you're doing is taking advantage of that situation, which is no different than criminals that just walk into the store and steal stuff. Just because no employee stops them doesn't mean it's right.

this is a dumb logic. if it's hurting their bottom line, you can be sure they'll train or change their policy better or make it you have to return both to get a refund. Just sounds like you're sour grapes for whatever reason on something that doesnt affect you.

hack? more like theft, haha. (at least for HD)
You are correct, but morals in our current environment seem to be a thing of the past. People will lie, cheat, and steal for a good deal. Our society needs to adjust its moral compass. The fact that this "deal" is okay with SlickDeals, along with the thumbs down you are getting (and I am sure I will get) speaks volumes.

I actually recently got Ryobi to send me a new battery. My battery was part of a combo and I didn't register it until I needed a replacement. Fairly simple process and my old battery started to work again. Hopefully it was a fluke but I got a free replacement anyways.
They asked me for the main device serial number and receipt from HD to honor mine. I don't do this hack/theft thing, so was easy enough.

I don't do "hacks" like this. To much like stealing.
You should pay everything at MSRP if you want to avoid potential "stealing" . You never know if those discounts were accidental….

People that compare this to stealing are freakin dumb.
If HD want to stop this, simply make the first item $99 and the 2nd item FREE so then you have to return both.
Pricing these separately mean they are OK with playing these games.

My store also start doing this. Been fine returning item I don't want for years and now they said I can't do that. I'll try different store.

I did get the battery deal for about $43. They work fine with my saw. and then
I bought a cordless saw, a blower, a bunch more. Nice deal though.
