Depends on your use case. I do know that you can use jigsaw blades on rhem and use them upside down as a jigsaw.

I've got an older non-brushless drill driver set from about 10 years ago that has stood the test of time, so I stand by these tools.

Anyone know if the brushed one-handed reciprocating saw has enough power to be effective?

Definitely. Metabo use to be Hitachi but they sold the business to Metabo, I've owned a Hitachi drill and impact driver for 15+ years and they've served me well. When the buyout happened, Metabo retroactively extended lifetime warranty on Hitachi equipment too.
