Same thought here. I bought a bunch of these years ago when the APC versions were on sale at Office Depot for the same price I believe. The first disappointment was that there is basically no pressure on that arm, don't expect any stability here. And the other thing was that practically this device added a lot of chunk to wherever I placed it, never really had any advantage over the usual types of power strips. After all, I ended up donating them to the local school. Nothing wrong with it, but try to think it through whether this unusual shape and concept makes a real life difference.
There is something "wrong" with it. The USB C is severely underpowered for 2023.

Looks like rebranded APC/Schneider Electric one, or a blatant clone

I have this and it's perfect for standing desks. Keeps cables off the floor and enough USB for slow charging.
To help with the weak clamping I added some filler material to make the desk thicker.
Going to get a second for the other standing desk.
The normal power strips you already own have screw holes you can use to attach to a wall or standing desk. For something less permanent, use double sided tape.
Hanging a gimmick power strip off the side of your desk doesn't save space and tbh doesn't work very well. $20 and not even enough juice to charge a cell phone is a letdown.
The USB-C port is so underpowered that it cannot revive my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 if I let the battery drain to 0%. I have to use another charger to get it to 1-2%, then it will slowly charge it back to full.
Besides that, it works fine with my standing desk and keeps a bunch of wires off the floor. I thought the lack of tension in the arm would be an issue, but it doesn't move around.
I have had an APC brand model that is the same design. I used it with a simple desk for about a year. I have not been able to use it for anything since, because its not usable for much else.

Something is funky with your tablet.
15w is more than enough.
It's not fast charging.

My guess is something is wrong with the USB-C port of the power strip. Any other charger in the house can charge it from 0%. I suppose I should submit a warranty claim with APC.

I happened to be finishing an order from Walmart and it looks like this is the same price there (likely not free shipping tho):
