That said, Lisbon is massively overcrowded for the traffic which means that embarking/disembarking is done out on the tarmac, away from the terminals, and then riding a bus into the terminal - a route that can take 15 minutes or more. Also, TAP is one of the few carriers which fly narrowbody planes transatlantic (mostly A320/A321 Neo). The good news is that they seem to fly the newer models transatlantic, but they fly older hardware within the EU. I've flown worse, but TAP is definitely on the lower tier. OTOH, probably $200-250 of that price is just taxes and airport fees, so it's not going to be any cheaper than this

I prefer the A330 Neo, great planes, however you are right, they fly the smaller ones nowadays, and yes LIS sucks for connections, it's faster with dual citizenship due to using automated passport control in LIS.

Took 4 flights in Sept . 2 late night flights had no one checking but the mid day flights, the scales were out !
85 euros on my first flight and 125 euros on the second daytime flight.
