Yea I have one from a Black Ops collector's edition a while back. Instructions said to only use it for like 8 hours per day. So if you wanted a cold drink you needed to plug it in and wait basically those 8 hours for it to cool off the cans, then unplug it.

They use Peltier coolers and as fridges they are basically useless. They look cool though.

The reason why it ended up dropping in popularity is because the fridge was a total dud and was burning out after 3 months of regular usage.

Then the manufactures starting back pedaling and saying it wasn't a fridge it was a cooling device LOL.

This is actually an underrated comment. I had the same issue with one of these because I daily drove it. Funny that you actually hit the nail on the head when you said it dies in 3 months(exactly how long it lasted). I had a square trade warranty as well that wasn't honored but it was like $17 bucks or something at the time for 2 years so it is what it is.

Exactly this. Mine died after 3 months of use too. Very accurate life span i guess. Lol
