When you're painting.
Installing curtains or other things that might involve moving back and forth a few steps.
Working in the engine bay of a truck.
Extra seating space.
Space to spread out tools if you're doing some mechanic stuff.
Washing roof of 4 door truck (since a step ladder would do fine for the single cab roof)

I'm sure there's tons of other uses
remember when these used to be like $25

Yeah, I got a few when it was that cheap. I ended up using them as cooler stands during parties.

Was $45 in January. Awesome purchase like many have said. Had a handyman come do some work for me, let him use because he was using step stool. He wanted to keep it.

I have this and like it a lot. I find it very useful. I paid $34.88 almost exactly two years ago at Home Depot.

pull leg more open and push in button.i like to use this instead of ladder wherever i can because it allows me to work on lager area/gives me more reach.also feel more stable standing with my legs shoulder width instead of crammed together on ladder
Also, you can lubricate the locking mechanism and the leg hinges which makes things easier.

Got one of these for $25-30 a few years back on Black Friday, it's super handy. Gives enough boost to reach most things in the house / garage and backs up as a bench etc.

This thing is awesome. I got it for around $25 a few years back. I also got the 22' gorilla ladder that supports 375lbs for $99. Plus the $99 Dewalt 7 tool 20v kit. Home Depot has been very good to me.

So this is not a deal but when it is a deal. The platform has so many uses and supports a ton of weight for fatties.

What is the chance of going this low again due to the inflation? I have been wanting one but $50 is still a bit steep.
I don't have crystal ball but this time last year it was $49.88 . https://slickdeals.net/f/16166773-gorilla-ladders-aluminum-slim-fold-work-platform-300-lbs-load-capacity-47-25-in-x-12-in-x-20-in-49-88?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Then after Xmas when they still had a bunch leftover, they dropped them to $43 to dump inventory. https://slickdeals.net/f/16353142-gorilla-ladders-aluminum-slim-fold-work-platform-300-lbs-capacity-43-free-shipping?src=SiteSearch

Yes!

I remember I bought these for about $25 12-18 months ago. I still have the two I bought - "highly" recommended. These things are GREAT and very stable.

These also came in real handy for me when working in the attic. I would keep them in their folded position and use them as temporary platforms, resting on the studs.

In addition to the examples everyone else has given, I use mine for a couple of niche but super useful purposes. It's perfect for adding a platform on top of my garage for inflatable holiday props (set one end with the legs folded up on the peak and the other end with the legs folded down on the slant, or straddle the peak (obviously that depends on your roof configuration). I also have a couple that I take to my apiaries as portable tables and hive stands during inspections so I don't have to set anything on the ground.

When would I use these instead of a step ladder?
Cuts down on project times and more comfortable than a ladder..

When these we $25 I gave them away to relatives as Christmas presents. At the time they thought it was a gag gift and have all since come around to thank me. Very handy item to have around.

They look great but I think I will wait until Black Friday just in case they come down in price.

I got the 2 pack of these in Jan for $89.99. Recommended, have used them a ton. Lightweight, easy to set up/break down and super solid.
I highly recommend people buy two of these, at least for painting. It's so much easier to set these up along the wall when painting the top edge at the ceiling. Also very handy when installing a curtain rod along a larger window.
