Apple needs to stop including bands and reduce the price by $50.
Would also help their "carbon neutral" efforts.

Well AW9 was that upgrade. Significantly faster and on device Siri for much faster responses. If you can, I'd return that AW8 and buy one of these BF AW9 deals. Going from the AW5 to 9 I think the only difference I would notice is the better heart rate sensor and faster charging.
But I do agree they have no competition so upgrades are very minimal. Hell AW6-8 all use the same processor (SIP). I have a AW7 and as much as I would like the processor upgrade in the AW9, I'm waiting and hoping for glucose monitoring sensor.

Glucose monitoring in an AW? That would be fantastic. But how would that work? don't you need a blood sample for that? Don't all continuous glucose monitor prick you and have a blood sensor constantly under your skin? (Real question. No sarcasm. I hope you're right.)

I saw some start-ups with non invasive glucose monitoring tech years ago (I think it was called KWatch). It still needed a lot of innovation. The current push seems to be the behind your arm dexcom measuring device that connects to your AW to view results. I had hoped to see something from apple that gave non diabetics more insight. Not a medical grade but just more info sort of how they implemented the ECG feature.

Ya they tried this concerning charger cables and phones. EU law ended that idea.

Interesting. Honest question for you:

Would it be a massive upgrade from Apple Watch Series 6 44mm w/ LTE stainless steel to Apple Watch Ultra? I like to upgrade but only when it is compelling. My AW6 runs just fine even with an acceptable battery life. I just don't use it extensively as 24/7.

It would be a very minimal upgrade. AW6,7,8 & Ultra1 all use the same processor called a SIP. A larger upgrade would be to the AW9 or Ultra2 which have a much better SIP.

One unfortunate thing is your AW6 charges pretty slow. AW7 and newer have much faster charging. Maybe wait for a good Ultra2 deal next summer? I have the AW7 so I'm not compelled yet to upgrade. The newer processor is interesting though. I'm curious what AW10 will bring. Maybe something big lol?

I see. Guess I save $ from making unnecessary jump to newer model. I have been using AW6 since March 21' so it going well.

More consumers like you not upgrading for non-innovation hopefully sends Apple a message. I believe the M2 hasn't sold well in Macs so they got the message there.
