I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

So this is what happened when I tried to do the upgrade. During the agreement part, I noticed that it said $16.08 on the left and also $16.08 on the payment plan selection for 36 months, so I canceled it and try 3 more times to get it to show $8.3x on both, and then proceeded and signed. Of course, after I saw the tax Walmart charged on my order, I knew something was wrong. My ATT installment plan is showing the same, $57x financed/$16.xx for 36 months.

I tested on one of my other lines and basically got the same thing (see attached screen cap) - the numbers don't match up.

I spoke to ATT, and they said that Walmart would need to fix it, and Walmart is looking into it right now. I think this is just a system problem, not Walmart trying to pull something. We'll see...
Instead of AT&T, purchase Verizon one

FYI, if you are doing an upgrade with AT&T-

I was able to cancel the $579 contract at Walmart, then place a second upgrade order with help from AT&T. I got a $299 contract on the 2nd upgrade attempt. TL;DR - If you are upgrading on AT&T, cancel the contract at Walmart, then call AT&T to "reset" your upgrade eligibility

+++

So I was doing an upgrade with AT&T. Despite the page showing the correct amount of $8.31 per month, the Installment Contract was for $579, and I was charged tax on $579. I logged into AT&T and verified a pending agreement for $579

I was afraid I wouldn't be able to "upgrade" again for quite a while, so I wasted 1+ hours chatting with different Walmart agents trying to get the price fixed. They couldn't fix anything.

After being transferred to a second department, and spending 20+ minutes with that 2nd agent, they told me I was in the wrong department. WTF? Like I had any control over that?

Complete waste of time! I finally gave up and cancelled the order. Mad

+++

Then I called AT&T, and they were fantastic! They were able to cancel the pending contract, and re-instate my ability to upgrade the same line within 5-10 minutes! I can't say enough good things about them - finally, someone who was competent, polite, and actually able to fix my problem! I first talked with the main Customer Service rep, then he transferred me to another department who were able to actually cancel the contract (I needed the Walmart order number to do that.) Smilie

I was able to re-order at Walmart as an upgrade with the same phone number within 10 minutes, no problems.

Some of the pages showed the correct amount of $8.31 per month. Then my options for the monthly payment were wrong - $16.62 per month, based on $579, and other variations on that (with $5 Next plan, etc.) I was afraid to cancel out of the upgrade again, so I went ahead.

Luckily the new Installment Agreement showed $299 due on the contract when I had to review the four agreements to put the phone in my cart. At checkout, I paid tax on $299 instead of $579. Then I logged into my AT&T account and saw the new pending agreement with an amount of $299! Applause

Success! It only took me 3 hours to buy a phone, Confused

What a mess. I hope this helps someone? Obviously, YMMV, depending on your situation. I am an existing AT&T customer with 6 lines, who plans to stay with AT&T, and keep the line I upgraded. Of course that means I already had an account to login to.

Cheers!

finally, after clearing cart yet again and redoing from start, got the magical combination of correct price in walmart cart, correct tax, and correct amount on verizon agreement. submitted.

bears repeating (everyone is well aware by now), check everything in cart description, agreements and tax amount, and make sure it matches the sale price, only then submit.. and pray it doesnt get cancelled.

Should I go for the at&t or Verizon if I'm cancelling it right away. I don't care about the 60 day waiting period

Can we pay Verizen off before we receive the phone via verizon customer service ? It is hardly to cancel the line within 3 days to save the activation fee as it takes 3 days to get develivered.
Is the monthly fee prorated? Thanks.

I purchased an ATT phone this morning through this deal. I received an email to set up an account this afternoon and was able to pay off the phone in full. I will try the sim swap method after I receive it on Friday

I got same canceled thing. Lidia on chat said wait 4.5 hours, use same FOP, same device, order exact same configuration. She said do not wait more than 24 hours. I was like "10:30pm central time" and she said yes, and again said but not more than 24 hours later

My understanding is you cannot do that unless your phone is activated with Verizon. And you can activate phone with Verizon only after you receive both sim and phone. Unless someone informs otherwise, I believe the activation period of 3 days begin only once your service is activated as stated above.

order placed with a new phone number, shows Nov. 14 for device delivery. Since a phone number is given during the order, does it mean the service is activated and the 3-days starts? Or the activation will not initiated until phone/sim is received? Can the full payment be requested? Thanks.

Hard to say, since the chip has to drive/deal with very different hardware platform, e.g. just display alone is completely different. Anyways, I recently switched from an iPhone11 which also has the A13 chip to an iPhone12 which has the A14 Bionic chip and honestly the phone is very laggy, sluggish and the battery is for the worse. If I turn off 5G it pretty much reverts to my old iPhone11 status but the point for me was to get 5G since connection is very good but it seems to suck the iphone12 dry and I read about 5G and battery/sluggishness after the fact. So here I am, jumping on the iPhone13, seems like the iPhone12 really was a mistake for me.
