I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

please post if you figure it out

I think I have my phone number as it appeared in the mobile contact but I did not get account number

Do you need to wait for it to ship before you can create an account?
I had the same problem. Verizon customer support refused to tell me my full phone number even I gave him my SSN. He told me only last 4 of my phone number. I had to go to store and gave them my SSN and my Driver license then they gave me my phone number.

I literally just placed order. I chose an area code when placing order and saved phone number from the mobile contact box. Not sure if this is the number but I cant link it to an account yet. I get an error "We can't complete your request right now...."

Wondering if I just need to give it some more time... I dont think I will get phone in time to waive activation fee

If the AT&T sim trick is working for people on the Verizon phones that must mean that the phone isn't activated yet until it's turned on, so canceling before arrival would prevent the 60 day unlock
So I see it as 1) risk relying on the AT&T sim trick to work and just cancel now before my phone is delivered tomorrow to make sure i don't pay the activation fee
Or
2) risk having to pay the activation fee and make sure I turn on the device tomorrow and get Verizon activation and wait 60 days.

Idk which is better probably not paying $35

There's gotta be other ways to unlock it if it's just in limbo or whatever

ATT sim trick worked for me too.

Start phone with old ATT sim (infact it was a ATT MVNO), submit unlock request, got it unlocked in 5 mins.
This unlock method is for Verizon phone or At&t phone ? Thanks.

Anyone who order the phone and complete the cancellation for ATT, do you know the 3 days activation start from the day you purchased or the day you receive and activate the phone ?
My account never show the line I added to the account until just now when Walmart update the tracking number. Make me think the activation date start from the tracking date upload the Walmart

So generally Verizon phone is easier to unlock using At&t sim trick?

Since I didn't save that number, could I have them look it up via email and/or SSN?

that explains why there was a different number on the checkout page to contact via text.
Hi. Did you figure this out? I saved the number from the text contact but did not save the number from the agreement. Is it the same number? I am unable to link it to a Verizon online account

Should you be able to link right after placing the order?

Thank you sooo much! I tried the earlier posted steps with the default 1-800# but that didn't work.
The number you listed worked! I paid off my device and captured screenshots of Chat CS confirming payoff, activation date and that my bill would be prorated and have waived activation if cancellation occurred within 3 days of activation.
I think I'll still wait for the device to be delivered and make calls/text before canceling…🤔
Update: I waited until the phone was delivered today and then cancelled via chat. I never turned the phone on or used the service prior to this. After politely asking and mentioning my horrible in store experience of trying to pay the device off last night I eventually got the bill down to Zero. Bill estimate was $10.xx and I was promised that would be credited so I owe zero.

I then used the ATT sim trick, I was a little scared to try it but it worked just as described. My new phone is now active on my carrier of choice and shows "no sim restrictions".

Thanks to everyone for your research and tips. I was concerned this wouldn't work when I was denied paying in store but it all worked out!

Only if the number is activated, may need to wait a day

I am wondering If we by using ATT MVNO on the Verizon phone before turning it on, will the unlock trick work?

For any one reading, this worked for me.
Hi, may I ask what is ATT MVNO?

At what point of that process did you pay off the phone?
