I received iPhone 13 today from walmart..
After inserting the SIM card and activating it, I chatted with Verizon.
The first agent refused the payoff and said it would be possible in 14 days.
The second agent sent me the URL right away and I paid $299.
Then I cancel line. I need 60days for unlock.

I tried to do it with an iPhone 14 in walmart.com when I saw this deal. It asked me to login to my Verizon (I'm with vzn), and asked for permission to pull credit. I declined. I think anything with a payment plan will need a credit check.

Though this is 36 months contract , but once you activate the line, you can pay off it via chat rep or in cash in verizon store . Once phone is paid , you can cancel the line with in 3 days to avoid activation / upgrade fees. Wait for 60 days to unlock the device.

THIS IS NOT MONTHLY CREDITS. AMOUNT FINANCED will be $299 or $99 , depends which phone you select.

I can confirm the AT&T trick is working with a Verizon phone. It doesn't matter whats going on with your Verizon account. Paid off, not paid off, no account, canceled or not. This is concerning your DEVICE. You should pay the $299 as soon as you can find someone to take payment lol and cancel your line to stop the prorated monthly charges.

1. Under no circumstance, do NOT put the Verizon sim card into the phone unless you want a 60 day lock.
2. Ok lets free our
minds devices. I bought a AT&T prepaid card from walmart for $10.
3. First phone boot was with the AT&T card. In settings, about device showed sim locked.
4. Visit https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/ and click "start an unlock request"
5. Choose no mobile number from AT&T and enter the IMEI from setting, about. Don't enter the IMEI2 which is for your phones esim.
6. Check your email & junk folder to click link from email to "confirm your request". I got email nearly immediately that my unlock was approved.
7. Now reset the phone. I left the AT&T sim in it. Now the phone shows no sim restrictions. Note you might not have to do the reset. I read that just changing the sim should cause the phone to show no sim restriction but I reset mine.
8. Put whatever sim in it you would like.
9. I actually bought a 2nd phone that is still in the mail so I plan to try to reuse the same sim though I'm not sure if it will work.
I can also confirm that the H2O $1 SIM card from Target works for me.

Wud u mind sharing if it was a new ATT sim or an old one you had lying around.

Was hoping to get a new H2O or ATT sim from target later today and try the unlock method.
H2O sim card from Target works for my Verizon iphone 13. Received the unlock approval email from At&T immediately.

Interesting. But why do the Verizon sim at all? I'm confused.
I never touched the Verizon SIM at all. Put in the ATT sim, unlocked the phone, called Verizon and cancelled my service. Verizon SIM is still sitting in its package unopened.

If the goal is to use the VZ iphone 13 on t-Mo, should one put t-Mo sim in VZ sent phone instead of VZ sim (assuming it has never been activated with VZ sim)? In this case, since phone is paid off and used on an existing t-mo line, will t-mo unlock the phone immediately?
I have same question. Someone please answer

Great. I updated this threads wiki with that info. $1 sim is way better than a $10 AT&T sim. Any idea if I can do the same trick again with my AT&T sim on a 2nd phone?

Just did the exact same. Account was open for 3 days. Was told my final bill would be $12.74. Talked with the nice CS person and she offered to just credit that amount. So other than the $299 and the $10 sim I bought from Walmart, I'm done with this phone.

So either buying this ATT sim kit https://www.walmart.com/ip/AT-T-P...om=/search or this H2O sim kit https://www.target.com/p/h2o-wire...nk=sametab would work for the ATT unlock trick?

For the sim kit, did you take the sim card out of the kit and put it in the phone immediately, then booted up your phone? And the sim will be activated with the phone?

Yes. I did the ATT sim. I know nothing about H2O but several have reported success.

I think the sim is just a target for the unlock code to be sent via ATT unlock service. You actually don't activate the SIM card you put in. So I didn't activate the ATT sim with them meaning starting service.

Thanks. Hopefully ATT won't close the loophole soon. My ip13 just shipped today from Atlanta, GA. Walmart says it should deliver (I'm in TX) tomorrow but I doubt that.

FWIW, I would recommend not paying off the phone before it is delivered. In my case, the packaging was tampered and there was no phone inside, and neither Walmart nor Verizon reps know how to refund the installment plan (i.e. the $299).

So if I intend to use these on T-Mobile can I just put in the T-Mobile sim on first boot and then go with whatever their unlock policy is???

Sure, but you wont be able to change from TMO for at least a year
